Someday I'll wish upon a star and wake up where the clouds are far behind me

Hello again. In this post, I'm wearing what could possibly be my favourite dress. I like the bright purple colour, the floral pattern, the midi length and the puffy sleeves.  I wear it all the time to work and even for school photo day. While everyone else seems to be enjoy wearing black, white and neutral colours, I'm known as the "colourful" teacher! I don't usually like pale coloured bags but when I rearranged by bag shelf the other day, I realised that I have three white or cream handbags.  This vintage "tube" bag was a recent buy from one of my favourite market sellers. My mum and I often see this lady and her sister selling their vintage goods at the market, side by side. They're always lovely and up for a chat. My sister thinks that the yellow tubes look like pasta, so now I have a chuckle every time I look at this bag. Whilst I paired this dress with the boots for a mornig market visit, later in the afternoo

Yesterday was a fun day. There was a school mini fair at my work. My work friend and I made and sold so much jelly at our stall and the children had an absolute blast. When the jelly sold out, I wondered around the fair to look at all the other stalls that the teachers were running. I was delighted to buy some lilac fairy floss - it perfectly matched my nails and eye shadow. Where's a camera when you need one? I laughed to myself. I joked that  I was the mini fair purple queen, which my students found amusing. And after work, I went to see U2's Joshua Tree concert with my family. My sister organised it and we were all happy to go.  Source We arrived a little late and I started to panic as I could hear music blaring from outside the stadium. It was Noel Gallagher and the High Flying Birds performing as the opening act. Noel said that the first half of his set was for him, because  he declared "I'm amazing" and the second half was for the audienc

All Dressed Up With Nowhere To Go

I recently had a school event that I needed to attend on a Saturday, so I thought I'd dress up in this floral maxi dress. I hadn't worn it in a while, so it needed a twirl. I was dancing around in the garden in the same dress and belt  last November , nothing's changed.  When I returned home, I pondered on what I could do for the rest of the day and declared "I'm all dressed up with nowhere to go!" Then I remembered that  I needed to go to the post office to buy some large postage boxes for a pair of boots and purple fluffy jacket that I sold on eBay. I love selling things! I got there just in time, the post office closes at 2pm.  Dress- opshopped. Belt, bag (vintage) and boots: second hand market finds. Rings: Last shared  here . Before going back home, my mum and I popped into the opshop that's a few doors down from the post office and I found a Lucille Ball book for $2. I like watching I Love Lucy and The Lucy Show ,

I can see the places that we used to go to now

A couple of weeks ago, my family and I went on a walking tour around the city of Melbourne. You may be wondering why we took a tour of our own city. Well, last year when we visited Sydney , we had so much fun doing a bus and walking tour , that my sister was keen to do another walking tour.   I was familiar with some of the places but many were new to me, I'm not really a city girl. It was interesting to listen to the guide tell us the history of different places and he said that often a lot of the good places are hidden away in alleyways. Apparently Melbournians like to keep treasures to themselves!  At the end of the tour, the guide mentioned that at St Kilda beach, penguins come out every evening. We made a mental note to visit. The next weekend, I'd spent most of my Saturday doing work for reports and afterwards, I was really tired and a bit stressed. So my dad announced, "All right everybody, I've got a surprise, we're going somewhere!"
