I need some time in the sunshine

Image
Hello! We've had some glorious winter sunshine recently. I've been enjoying my first few days of my work holidays and am glad to already be feeling very calm and relaxed. I attribute my recent peace of mind to spending some time in the sun, having a picnic in the garden, going for walks and catching a sunset, which I was inspired to do after reading The Outsiders .  I really ought to do that more often.  Vegetable pasta for lunch. With lots of cheese. I do LOVE cheese. I also filled these cute cans with flowers from the garden. They're too cute to throw in the recycle bin, so I thought I'd reuse them. This was my outfit to an op-shop on Saturday.  My mum's been having some health scares lately and on the way to a medical appointment we noticed an op-shop  nearby  that  was empty so we had a look around. I found some vintage sunglasses, a green jug and a photo album. I'm so glad shops have hand  sanitizers  readily available

Lately, you look around and wonder what you're doing

Bright turquoise tights? What was I thinking?! I bought these pair of tights recently on eBay and since they arrived, I've been stumped on how to style them. Yesterday I had a brainwave! I wanted to wear my new cord miniskirt with my matching emerald turtleneck but I decided it needed a pop of colour - blue legs! It was a day of firsts, I also wore these new-to-me green snakeprint boots and the blue scarf pulled the look all together. I thought it was only right to dress up to go to an opshop! It's the first time I've been in MONTHS! Well, that's not entirely true. I went to a small opshop last week before eating banh-mi at a cafe and it was a bad experience. I felt so uncomfortable being in such a small public space and there were people blocking both isles that led to the exit. I hardly looked at anything because I couldn't wait to get out of there. I wasn't completely comfortable eating at a cafe either and tried to avoid touching shared surf

Hello! I've been on a cooking spree lately - feast your eyes! On Sunday, I made this delicious vegetable soup which is perfect in winter. I also made my own lavash crackers and threw in so many herbs and spices - tumeric, thyme, basil, chilli, oregano, pepper, salt - and they turned out fantastic! I've been eating them everyday at work with some cheese and apples/grapes - delicious! After looking back at my birthday photos , I decided to make some Macedonian tulumbi (doughnuts with syrup) again! On Monday, (a public holiday for the Queen's birthday) I even brought some over to my dedo's house, thinking he'd be all proud of me but with all that syrup, he's way too health conscious to eat them! Nevermind, dad and I still enjoyed pottering around in the backyard with him. I wore this big fluffy leopard coat and my thigh high boots- two items that I reserve for very cold days. And under the coat was...   More leopard! Altho

Hi everyone!  What a year it has been! First the horror of being amongst the Australian bushfires at the start of 2020, then the unexpected corona virus sweeping across the world and now the Black Lives Matter movement is taking place. What a time in history we are part of! I hope everything changes for the better. Source I have refrained from posting on Instagram for a while, out of respect for the Black Lives Matter movement. To tell you the truth, I am absolutely horrified that there is so much police violence and brutality towards black people. Learning of the murder of George Floyd and other people across the world by police has left many people feeling a range of emotions: anger, fear, hurt. I am left feeling incredibly sad by this, I can't watch the news without tearing up. I guess I have been ignorant in not realising that such ferocious racism has been happening around the world including against Australia's first people - the Aboriginal and Torres Strait
