Dreaming of Vintage Treasures

On Friday, I had a full day of parent-teacher interviews. I'd  had a terribly sore throat for days and was quite nervous about losing my voice whilst talking throughout the day. Luckily, I was okay and it all went well. School's out! As soon as I arrived home from work, I was straight off to the football with my family and cousin. No rest for the wicked! The Bulldogs won by 2 points- it was very close and exciting! I spent the weekend relaxing and I'm glad to have some time off work over the school holidays. My mum and I were able to watch some episodes of L.A Frock Stars, a show about a vintage store. It's interesting to see how the vintage stock is sourced and sold, and the people who work in the store are passionate about vintage. I do hope they make more seasons of it, it's a great show. The other day, I wore this outfit to work. I always feel a bit like I'm channeling Stevie Nicks when I wear this shirt. I also wore my new-to-me Italian made clogs, which you may have spotted in this post.  Being part Italian myself, I love finding items made in Italy.  Growing up, I remember my mum and nonna telling me that most things that were made in Italy are of really good quality. So now every time I buy something made in Italy, I love to show it to my nonna. So far I've been able to show her an Italian-made bangle and bag that I bought from a market, and I'm eager to show her my clogs too. As much as I love the look of them, I have to admit, they aren't the most comfortable shoes in the world. I found this dark green velvet skirt at a market a little while ago. I love velvet, if you hadn't noticed by my first post ! This skirt was a fab $5 find and I've worn it quite a bit already. It's amazing how many things (that I really like and wear a lot) I've found at a market. In fact, I bought my belt, skirt, bag and boots all at the very same market. I didn't buy them all at once, of course, but slowly over time. These red boots were made in Croatia! I love finding vintage items made in European countries or from Australia. If you find something made in someplace other than China, it's probably vintage as so many things are made in China nowadays.
