Dreaming of Vintage Treasures

  Hello!  I hope your day is as lovely as this strawberry milkshake! I haven't had a milkshake in years and this one was such a delight. My mum, dad and I recently went out for lunch to Old Man Drew. My mum and I enjoy going out to different places to eat, whereas my dad is more of a grumble bum but also doesn't want to miss out! Hehe! On this day, I had a homemade pie and we shared a pecan pie which was delicious. So delicious that I think I need to return there for some more as soon as possible. I adored these red flowers that were on each table. The sun shone perfectly in this photo. Mum and I had a peek at the rooms upstairs where events are held. There was a pink room which was beautiful.     I have soooo been looking forward to spring this year. The warmer weather, the beautiful blossoms and wearing dresses again - that is what makes spring wonderful to me!   This week, I had to dress up and capture some photos in front of our fruit trees before the strong winds blew the blossoms away. I thought a pink dress was perfect for this occasion. But as I was rifling through my dresses, I noticed this cream vintage dress that I bought earlier this year for $10 at a market and haven't worn yet. We're still in lockdown so I can't envision that I'm going to go out and wear it anytime soon, so why not wear it at home? What I love most about this dress is the floaty sleeves. On instagram, I sometimes see whole posts dedicated to them, so I know I'm not the only one out there who adores interesting sleeves ! I'm so glad these backyard blossoms got captured on camera at the beginning of spring. They lasted for about a week and then some strong winds blew them all away. Ah, it was beautiful while it lasted! The garden is glorious at the moment. Roses are blooming, the orchids burst open and the greens are abundant. About twice a week, I pick enough greens to fill this colander and we've been throwing them into soups or pasta. These bluebells are so gorgeous. Last year, when I was at my dedo's (grandad's) house, I commented on how beautiful they are. All of a sudden, he pulled out a whole bunch and gave them to me to take home. You've got to be careful what you say around him! Last weekend, when we were checking in on him, I asked if I could pick a few of his lavender flowers and then he brought out a knife and insisted on cutting about 50 more so I had a huge bunch to take home. Hello! This week has been so busy. I have been working from home and stressing about writing reports. I'm slowly getting through them and will feel so relieved once they're done. I needed some fashion relief so  I decided to play a little game called 'see how many ways you can style these pants!' Since working from home , I tend to stick with the same pants all week and change what I wear on top.
