There's always been a rainbow hanging over your head

  Good morning! At the time of writing, it is 8.30am here in Melbourne. I like writing blog posts on Saturday mornings so I can reflect on the week and prior weekend that has passed. Last Saturday, I had a major chocolate eclair craving and decided to try making some myself. I used a profiterole recipe for the dough and it turned out great! On Sunday, we had a BBQ with friends and family at a park in Geelong. Everyone made some food and brought it and we had a fun time catching up. I have many fond memories of Christmas Eves spent all together at our house when I was growing up. This is our annual January gathering to celebrate many in this group who have a birthday in January.   Here's my best friend since childhood, Renee. I loved her blue stripy jumper that her mum knitted and her pink hair that she dyed for breast cancer awareness. I love catching up with you, Ney! You light me up like starlight on a Christmas tree

 As always, I've been busy, busy, busy this week. Yes it is worth writing three times, but then again the end of year is a busy time for many people. Christmas shopping and celebrating, catching up with loved ones, racing to the end of the work year. Yesterday was spent visiting family friends which was nice. This morning I had brunch with a couple of friends from high school. It's always good to catch up on each other's lives and while away hours chatting. Some other dear family friends visited this afternoon and now I've got the last few hours of the weekend to myself. Before I get to relaxing, I wanted to share some Christmas-y photos with you. This is my family's beloved Christmas tree that goes up every October 31st (I know that sounds super early and crazy but we don't care).
