Dreaming of Vintage Treasures

 Happy New Year!  2020. It has already been deemed one hell of a year. For my family and I, it started with lots of terror as we rushed to escape the New South Wales bush fires . That was truly traumatic and I can't even begin to imagine how people who lost their homes or loved ones feel. Then by February, we were all too aware of corona virus and it's restrictions on our lives. Many people suffered in various ways, whether it be financially, socially, emotionally. Having a family member catch coronavirus was really scary and stressful but thank goodness he is alive and well. So many have died due to this pandemic and the numbers are truly shocking. After two lockdowns in Melbourne, I am glad that restrictions have now drastically eased. To all those in lockdown overseas, please have hope that if you stay home and keep doing the right thing, restrictions will eventually be eased.   For the last few days of 2018, my family and I were still in Eden . After missing the chance to buy some fresh seafood off the wharf the previous day , we returned on the Sunday, made friends with the lovely fisher-lady and brought some mussels back to the cabin. My mum and I finally got to make a paella and a fruit and tea sangria - it was yum! I spent the day reading and hanging out near the beach.  Later in the afternoon, my mum and I went for a walk around the caravan park. I've always loved the painted fish walls of the laundry, the other side of the wall is even better. It's a bit of a tradition to take some photos in front of the fish wall each time we're there. My mum and I found a seat bench near the creek and sat around for a long time chatting away. I admired the reflection of the clouds in the water. Hello!  I've recently come back from a holiday. My family and I went to Eden, New South Wales after Christmas . It was an 8 hour drive from Melbourne and the road trip is always one of my favourite parts of going on holidays. On our obligatory holiday stop at McDonalds for breakfast, I passed on my usual hash brown and had a toasted cheese and tomato sandwich instead. Who knew they sold toasties? I only go to McDonalds about once a year - can you tell?!  I spent most of the car ride sleeping, the windy roads put me and my sister straight to sleep! We spent the next day swimming at the beach. We're really lucky to have a beach about 20 metres away from the cabin, so we could eat outside by the waters and hear the waves crash at night.
