Oh the flame trees will blind the weary driver

Our day in Mount Macedon began with a chilly walk up to the Memorial Cross. The first thing that greeted us was this adorable, fluffy kookaburra and fog everywhere. Luckily I came prepared with my big Afghan coat. Still, I was freezing! These trees with bright red leaves were beautiful. Almost everyone who passed by stopped to take photos. Hiding under the trees were many red mushrooms. They looked bright and magical but were probably poisonous. Best to just look and not touch. These Penstemon ‘Alice Hindley’ flowers caught my eye, matching the red theme of the day. I have purple Penstemons growing in my garden and would like to plant some red ones next. A closer look at my vintage, leather handbag. I've had this one for years.  For lunch we had sweet potato wedges and shakshuka. What did you have for lunch today? The strands in your eyes that colour them wonderful

  Recently my mum and I discovered a cafe called The Glass Den . With beautifully styled food and interesting flavours, I was so excited to try the food. As people around us ordered, I'd sneak a look at their gorgeous looking meals and it was hard to decide what to order. In the end, I picked the Korean chicken on a cheese waffle and my mum and I shared a strawberry matcha topped with a coconut creme brulee. It was really delicious.  After our very filling lunch, we strolled around Coburg Lake Reserve, admiring the trees, fallen leaves and lakes. We also reminisced about visiting this same park years ago with family friends. In other news, here are some stunning sunflowers that I grew in my garden! I absolutely love growing my own flowers, it gives me so much joy.  I also found a fairly rare Elvis book from 1977 at a Sunday market. I bought a second hand copy of this book about 10 years ago and it had a ripped front cover so I was happy to upgrade my copy. Despite it's s...
