After 11 weeks of term 2, preparing reports and completing parent-teacher interviews, I farewelled my grade 2 students, and began my two weeks of holidays. I was looking forward to spending time with my family and grandparents, as well as squeezing in some day trips. My mum and I returned to our favourite place, Daylesford. It was a cold, winter's day so we rugged up in big coats which kept us surprisingly toasty. I wore my tartan coat that I recently bought at a market. I had been looking for a big, long coat for some time as well as watching Gilmore Girls and admiring all of the beautiful coats worn on the show. So when I found this brand new coat, I was happy to hand over my $25. At Daylesford, we first roamed the Vintage Mills Market. It's always fun to have a look at the unique items. I found a vintage, leopard coat. It was a bit pricey, so I thought about it for some time and then decided to buy it as it was a dream item that I have been searching for, for probably over 1...

All the complicated boys know that the girls are so complicated

It's my first day of work holidays! Woohoo! There's so much I'm looking forward to... days out with mum, catching up with some friends, visiting my grandparents, finally using my pottery lesson voucher that my sister bought for me pre-Covid. The last few weeks at work have been spent doing assessments and writing reports as well as two weeks of online learning, so I'm very grateful to have some time to relax and get ready for term 3. Melbourne's restrictions have eased considerably since lock-down 4.0 but people in their 20s don't yet have access to any Covid-19 vaccines. Have you got your vaccine yet? Some of the teachers at my work have had their vaccine and it's always interesting to hear their experiences.      In other news, I have been living in turtlenecks and cord pants/skirts, as I do every winter. They're warm and suit me and I just can't bear to wear anything else because it's freezing most mornings. It's hard to look cute in t...

Open up your mind and let me step inside

What do you do when life gives you lemons? You could make lemonade but this weekend I decided to make some Italian lemon sorbet! It was my first attempt at making it and I was so excited about it. Although it may still be winter, you better believe I was eating the sorbet as soon as a bit of sun came out, pretending it was summer! Outfit details:  Dress, vintage scarf and boots: secondhand market finds. Other than creating this lemony delight, I also spent the weekend celebrating a friend's birthday. I bought her some flowers so of course I wanted to pose with them!  Then on Saturday I caught up with a uni friend over burgers. Even though life gets busy, I think it's important to catch up with friends whenever we can. This morning, my mum and I ventured out into the cold for a rummage through the market. My mum didn't come away with anything but I found this Queen 'Play the Game' LP. So shiny! It has Another One Bit...

1970s Vintage Winter Lookbook

Now that it's the last month of Winter in Australia, I thought it would be a good idea to create a Winter Lookbook featuring all of my favourite pieces that I wear when it's cold outside. I love watching Lookbooks on YouTube so I thought it'd be a fun idea to try on this blog too. My go-to pieces for Winter are: Turtlenecks Big fluffy coats Fringed jackets Boots Capes Ponchos Culottes  Midi Skirts Mini skirts with coloured tights Belts  and h ats. All of these pieces keep me warm and make me feel fab. And if you ask me, Winter by the Rolling Stones is the perfect song to accompany this Winter-themed blog post.
