Dreaming of Vintage Treasures

    Recently, I've been loving the colour pink. I think it may be because I've been seeing so many reels of cute, pink kitchens on Instagram or perhaps it's because I've been adoring my pink, strawberry jug I shared on my blog recently . Regardless, I've never really paid much attention to the colour pink until recently. I was determined to find a pink dress and luckily I didn't have to look far because I found this pink and red dress at the next opshop I visited, Savers. A bit pricey for opshops ($15.80), but I was happy to purchase this dress because it's beautiful and Sportsgirl sell their dresses for $80+ in their stores.     I had to take my new-to-me dress out for a twirl on a day out to Daylesford with my mum. She wanted to visit the lavender farm again whilst the purple delights were still in bloom.           The scent of lavendar was wonderful. It's so hot in Melbourne as I write this, I'm sweating and clutching my iced water but nevermind that, let me take you back to last month when my mum and I went to the beautiful Lavendula farm near Daylesford. The lavender fragrance filled the air and greeted us as soon as we arrived.     I had gnocchi with cheese, mushrooms and asparagus for lunch and my mum enjoyed her canelloni. We sat under some lovely trees and enjoyed our surroundings.   We walked around the farm and spotted geese, emus and lamas. Boy, did the emus scare me, they look so mean! I spotted a wild berry bush and ate some berries. They were so sweet and delicious, I could hear my nonna's voice in my head saying "they're full of antioxidants!". I love her!       I wore my new-to-me pastel gingham dress that I bought at a secondhand market for $5. Pretty good, don't you think?  Last week, we got a day off on Thursday, as a national day of mourning for Queen Elizabeth II. It didn't make a difference to me as I was already on work holidays, but it's great that others got a day off.   My family and I decided to make the most of the day by going to the Tesselaar Tulip Festival in Silvan. It's quite a long drive to get there, and it seems everyone else had the same idea to go aswell. We waited in the traffic for what felt like a couple of hours. Luckily we'd packed a picnic lunch and ended up eating our rolls and leftover KFC in the car! My sister also spotted a stand where apples were being sold so we enjoyed some green, sour apples too. Finally, we got fed up with the long line of cars trying to get into the carpark so we made a u-turn and found somewhere else to visit for the day.
