There's always been a rainbow hanging over your head

Good morning! At the time of writing, it is 8.30am here in Melbourne. I like writing blog posts on Saturday mornings so I can reflect on the week and prior weekend that has passed. Last Saturday, I had a major chocolate eclair craving and decided to try making some myself. I used a profiterole recipe for the dough and it turned out great! On Sunday, we had a BBQ with friends and family at a park in Geelong. Everyone made some food and brought it and we had a fun time catching up. I have many fond memories of Christmas Eves spent all together at our house when I was growing up. This is our annual January gathering to celebrate many in this group who have a birthday in January.   Here's my best friend since childhood, Renee. I loved her blue stripy jumper that her mum knitted and her pink hair that she dyed for breast cancer awareness. I love catching up with you, Ney! (Xxx) At some point, we decided to go for a walk around the river to digest the delicious food we'd indulge...

Stuck inside these four walls, sent inside forever

As of Thursday, Metropolitan Melbourne has been  in lockdown again as the number of coronavirus cases has  drastically increased. At this point, I'm feeling okay about it. I've adjusted to isolation and keeping myself amused. In the place of face-to-face catch ups with friends, video calls are my new normal. Plus, there's always the fun of taking outfit photos in the garden!  These photos were taken before lockdown when I wanted to capture the gorgeous orange tree before we eat/drink all the oranges. I love this blue velvet skirt. It suits my  snake print boots and new-to-me belt. Although this skirt is cheeky and  likes to play games with me! Sometimes it's static-y and when  I recently wore it to work with a slip underneath, it seemed to create more static. My students' parents must have  thought I was flashing them at home time when my skirt kept riding up with every step I took! Embarrassing! Outfit details...
