Bésame Mucho

My favourite Mexican restaurant... La Tortelleria in Kensington!       Once I find a nice place to eat at, I reakly enjoy revisiting the place everyone once in a while.   The pork and pineapple tacos are so delicious and don't get me started on the birria sauce! I seriously need to learn how to make it, it is the absolute best part of the meal.     On this day, it was very cold so my mum and I rugged up in warm coats. This fluffy, leopard coat always comes in handy.       I can never leave this place without enjoying the orange flan.     It is so creamy, sweet and delicious, I savour each bite. Later in the week, I had to try making it myself!     I think that is one of the best things about eating out. You try new foods and get inspired to make something different to what you might usually make.   What have you been up to / cooking this week? X

I saw the light in your eyes

My sister is full of great gift ideas. For my birthday, her and my mum got me a voucher to an art class to make a Turkish lamp. I was so excited and finally went a couple of weeks ago. Mum and I used the tram to travel into the city, admiring some cute stores such as Babushka. Before the 1pm class, we had lunch and dessert at Hopetoun T ea Rooms. Most people who walk past take a photo of the window displaying cakes and I was no exception. I've always loved the wallpaper in the tearooms. Mum and I shared a sirloin steak and seafood linguine as well as a pecan cake. Just prior to 1pm, we arrived at the art class and admired the lamps that were displayed around the store.  We couldn't wait to make our very own Turkish lamps! This is how my lamp turned out... Orange and yellow flowers with a pale pink background, I love it! We had a fun, creative day which wasn't complete until we caught the wrong tram back and got a little lost before safely making our way home. Thank you to m

Life can be funny, happy and sunny

My sister recently bought Sooshi Mango tickets as a present for my mum's birthday. What a great idea! The comedic group consisted of brothers, Joe and Carlo Salanitri, and their best friend, Andrew Manfre and they were so funny! My mum and I were particularly howling with laughter, but so was the whole audience. The show was being filmed and Joe, Carlo and Andrew had a few moments of breaking character and laughing uncontrollably themselves, it was so hilarious! The line to get into the Palais Theatre was unbelievably long. My family and I entertained ourselves with a walk by the beach and Sunday market, taking photos in front of the giant Luna Park entrance.     I spotted these unusual mugs at one of the market stalls.     Outfit details:  Dress: Kmart. I've bought a few nice dresses from Kmart this year. Vintage bag, brand new boots, sunglasses: Op-shops and markets.     I hope you're day is happy and sunny and you have a laugh at some point during the day. X    Titl

There'll always be a rainbow hanging over your head

I love being on work holidays, and being able to sleep in if I wish, have a leisurely breakfast without rushing to work and sipping on a hot drink. I like collecting cute mugs and recently added this bunny one to my collection. I'm assuming someone bought it around Easter time this year as I'd seen it new in the shops and they've already gotten rid of it a few months later, as I found it last month in an op-shop for $1. Or maybe it was an unwanted Easter gift. Whatever the case, I love it.   On Monday, mum and I went to our favourite country town, Daylesford. We admired a rainbow as we drove over the hills. We spotted it when it was beginning to form and watched it until it finally become a big, full rainbow. It soon became rainy so my mum and I sat in the car by a lake for an hour, chit chatting. A bit like a therapy session, we talked about everything.   Finally we ventured out when the rain stopped for a moment and took some photos by Lake Jubilee.   Outfit details: A
