Here comes the sun

The next day of our Eden trip started with some yoghurt for breakfast, then we went for a lovely, long swim at the beach. It was so rough and wavy, we were knocked about! My boyfriend and I had a nice walk up and down the beach. He went exploring behind the giant rocks, whist I scrubbed my body with the sand. I take a photo by this fish wall every year, it's a bit of a tradition now. (See  here  and  here ) We had tacos for lunch and then were off to the Ben Boyd tower to admire the beach views. One corner of the ocean was so blue, sparking and beautiful, I didn't want to leave.  It was so windy by this tower, my windswept hair makes me laugh! Then we went to the Navy wharf for more stunning views. We enjoyed lime soda spiders in the afternoon. A perfect day.    See you again next week.  X Title : Here Comes the Sun by The Beatles.

So uneasy, lay your your head on these weary shoulders...

Have you seen the new movie Avator: Way of Water ? That's the next thing we did on our Eden holiday. It was a long movie and we were in a little, squashy old movie theatre but we enjoyed the visuals. Turned out James Cameron (of 'Titanic'!!!) directed the film. The movie went for 3 hours so we ended up having a late lunch of kebabs at 4pm and then we popped into an art gallery and bookstore. Outfit details: Dress ($10) and shoes ($5): market finds. Bag ($4) and sunglasses ($2): Opshop finds. Turquoise pendant: A gift from my family friends. An outfit for $21! The next day, we went to Nethercote Falls. My boyfriend and I were fascinated by the river geodes (rocks) and tried to find some with crystals inside them. We found one with a white and light purple crystal inside !! Then we went to Squeaky Beach (a place where the sand squeaks with each step you take), ate some oysters, prawns and pies for lunch. The seafood was delicious! We had fun walking up and down the beach, sp

Don't want to open my eyes when we fall in love if it's just a dream...

Our next day on holiday began with a sunny morning walk on the beach. My mum and I love starting our day this way when in Eden. For lunch, my family and I went to a new pub that looked quite fancy from the outside and inside. Look at the chandeliers and giant chairs! Everyone who passed wanted to take a photo in it! Despite the interesting interiors, the food was a bit of a disappointment. Plus it arrived in cardboard boxes and trays and I just cringed at all the waste. We ended the afternoon with a golden gaytime icecream by the beach.   The next day, my cheeky boyfriend surprised me by driving out to Eden earlier than I had expected. I thought he'd arrive in the afternoon but instead I woke up at 6.24am to a text that said "I hope you're not too surprised by this but I'm here!" Naturally I ran out of the cabin, told him off for driving 7 hours through the windy roads at night and then covered him in kisses.  We made a big breakfast - eggs, tomatoes and onions on

Happy new year, may we all have a vision now and then

New Years by the beach - perfection. Our first morning on holiday at Eden consisted of going on a beach walk. There's something special about getting your feet wet and admiring the sparkling, blue water.   My family wandered around a wharf, a park and a lookout. I spotted a brick house near the beach surrounded by a picket fence (not pictured), with only one neighbour, right by a small forest and the beach. I declared it the best place for a home in Australia! I wonder if the residents love where they live.  My mum made the kaftan she's wearing! It looks so professional to me, like it's straight out of a shop! I'm wearing my mum's old, hand-me-down maxi dress. It was a nice, slow paced day of walking around, after seeing the midnight new year's fireworks the night before. I could get used to this relaxed lifestyle eating  by the beach and swimming each afternoon. How did you spend the beginning of 2023? Title : Happy New Year by ABBA.
