I can see paradise by the dashboard light

My final holiday blog post takes us to our second last day in Eden. My family, boyfriend and I drove to Tathra, up all the small, windy roads until we finally made it to a wharf with beautiful beach views.     My sister bought us icecreams and I loved the flavours I picked - chocolate and ginger.  On the way back to the cabin, we stopped to take photos in front of the whale wall. It's a huge wall on the side of a hippy shop that is wonderfully painted by a local artist (I can only assume). It looks so detailed and perfectly portrays Eden and it's whaling history.   Back at the cabin, I had to take photos in front of another wall - the fish wall. The shared laundry is decorated so creatively, don't you think? My sister and I have been taking photos in front of this wall every year since we were little. Giving the fish a smooch is all part of the fun and tradition! Outfit details:   Sunglasses, butterfly pendant, gingham dress, mustard sandals: all market finds. Feel f

Another Day in Paradise

Day 4 of our Eden holiday...    Pat, my mum and I woke up at 5.30am to watch a beautiful sunrise. I don't like to get up this early, but when else am I going to see a sunrise? I like the progression of these photos.           After breakfast, we all went to the Eden lookout, where whales migrate each winter from Antarctica through Eden, completing the longest migration of any animal species.      My sister took this cute photo. I love that my dad's managed a big smile!       My dad was fascinated by these tessellated rocks.  For lunch, we ate at the Eden pub and I ate prawn cutlets with chips and salad. I convinced my family to eat outdoors because the NSW Covid cases are so high, and luckily we did because later we got a message notifying us that a covid case had attended that site.   Next, we went to visit Dennis the horse, as we have been doing for years. We enjoyed patting him and feeding him lots and lots of grass. He is a heart-breaker and we absolutely ador

Summer Lovin'

Happy New Year! I hope the first week of 2022 has been good for you! My family, boyfriend and I recently had a summer holiday in Eden, New South Wales. There was a whole lot of sun, sand, swimming at the beach, relaxing and even some trips out and about. After a long 8 hour drive taking up most of day one, we spent our second day visiting Merimbula, a nearby beach town. We ate lunch at the RSL as has become a tradition, this time enjoying some Chinese food. I had sweet and sour pork with rice - deeeelicious. After lunch, we walked around the strip of shops and down to the boardwalk, where we spotted lots of jellyfish without any tentacles. Back at the cabin, we made cannelloni stuffed with broccoli and cauliflower for dinner and ate it by the beach. Bliss. On day 3, we went for a drive to Davidson Whaling station. Immediately, we spotted a little, wooden cottage that was built in 1896, that a family of 10 once lived in.            Continuing on the path, we came across a beach w
