Happy new year, may we all have a vision now and then

New Years by the beach - perfection. Our first morning on holiday at Eden consisted of going on a beach walk. There's something special about getting your feet wet and admiring the sparkling, blue water.  

My family wandered around a wharf, a park and a lookout. I spotted a brick house near the beach surrounded by a picket fence (not pictured), with only one neighbour, right by a small forest and the beach. I declared it the best place for a home in Australia! I wonder if the residents love where they live. 

My mum made the kaftan she's wearing! It looks so professional to me, like it's straight out of a shop!

It was a nice, slow paced day of walking around, after seeing the midnight new year's fireworks the night before. I could get used to this relaxed lifestyle eating  by the beach and swimming each afternoon.

    Eden is really the perfect name for it! Happy 2023 to you, Jess! May all of your year be filled with good times, good friends and good shopping! Your mum is so clever - what a great dress - and so nice of her to pass along that smashing maxi (you look fab!).

    I was up till 2am, partying with my friends at a swanky mountaintop resort!

  A little while ago, my mum, sister and I had lunch at one of our favourite places in the city, Conservatory. It's an all you can eat restaurant with a wide variety of food. Mostly I dream of the seafood and I was SO excited to go. I love the lighted ceiling and marble staircase that greets you on the way in. I wore my new-to-me cream midi dress with cute puffy sleeves that I recently bought at a market for $7. I wasn't sure if the colour would suit me, but I like how it looks with the coral necklace. Beach baby, beach baby, give me your hand

A day by the beach, what could be better? One sunny day on my work holidays, my mum and I visited Geelong beach. First we popped into the Vintage Mills Market. Looks at these vintage treasures... Next we strolled by the beach.  Passing the  carousal , we couldn't resist having some childlike fun. The Carousel's website says: " The Armitage-Herschell portable steam driven, hand-carved wooden carousel was constructed circa 1892 and is one of only 200 in operation around the world.   Featuring 36 Dare horses and 2 chariots, it was purchased by the Steampacket Place Development Board in 1996 and painstakingly restored." The view from the carosaul centre is beautiful. For lunch, we ate at a lovely restaurant by the beach called Fisherman's Pier. We love returning to enjoy the seafood linguini - delicious!  The four beach ladies waved us goodbye as we made our way back to our car. Goodbye beach, it was nice seeing you! I go leaps and bounds

A few weeks ago, my mum, dad and I spent the day in Geelong, catching up with some family and friends. Julie, Andy and their children were down from Queensland for the weekend to watch their son Joel play football, so it was a perfect chance to catch up.  It was nice watching the game, chatting and laughing non-stop. This bunch are always cracking jokes and I delighted in our giggles. Being outside all day, I rugged up in my new fluffy coat, my Christmas present from mum this year. I squeezed in a sneaky wear of it before I wrapped it up in Christmas paper.  My mum has a maroon Afghan coat and a tan one, which I sometimes borrow. You may recall them from my blog posts here and here . Now I have one of my own, thank you mum! I practically pounced on it, when I saw it on sale. I've been secondhand shopping for so long, I forgot that retail stores have end of season sales! The coat kept me toasty all day, even into the night as we headed to a pub hotel for a final gathering and chat.
