Someone told me there's a girl out there with love in her eyes and flowers in her hair

Striking a pose in front of pink blossoms always seems like a good idea—until you realize you’re basically standing in a swarm of bees.   You’re trying to give “ethereal woodland fairy,” but you're quietly hoping the bees aren't bothered by your presence and don't want to sting you. You only have a limited amount of time to capture a photo of the blossoms because the wind could blow them away at any moment. Of course I had to wear a bright pink, floral dress to match the blossoms. This is a Tree Of Life dress I found on eBay early this year.  Something else that was pink... a beautiful sunset. Also in the backyard, is an abundance of lemons. When life gives you lemons, make lemon cake and limoncello, I say!  A little while ago, my friend Renee came over for a catch up and I made this lemon cake for the occasion. With the leftover lemon syrup, I made some limoncello! I don't really drink alcohol but I don't mind a little limoncello. Some other news... I enjoyed watc...

Kiss me goodbye, defying gravity

Some things that have been giving me joy lately... 1. This cute ladybird that landed on my hand. Thanks for the good luck, ladybird! 2. A delicious dinner my sister cooked. 3. Some flowers I bought for myself. They were on special for $8 and I couldn't resist. The colours were bright and made me smile. 4. These fresh cherries picked on one of my walks around the neighbourhood. I was thrilled to spot a cherry tree growing on a nature strip! 5. Speaking of cherries, my sister surprised my family and I with this delicious cherry pie! It's inspired me to make my own cherry pie one day! 6. Cherry red nails to match the ongoing cherry theme (of course)! 7. Last but not least, going to the movies to watch Wicked . My sister and I kindly received LUX movie tickets for Christmas from my Chico last year and we finally used them to watch the musical Wicked . I absolutely love the Wizard of Oz (as you may have noticed here and here ), but wasn't sure if I'd like the Wicked movie....

Because I knew you, I have been changed for good

Last Thursday night, my mum, sister and I went to see Wicked: The Musical in the city!  We quickly dressed and rushed there after work and made it just in the nick of time before the 7pm start. We marvelled at the ceiling and Romeo and Juliet style balcony. I even spotted a handful of Australian TV personalities, walking through a roped off area, which is something I've never seen here in Melbourne. Usually, we all just walk through the same entrance!  I absolutely love  The Wizard of Oz  as you may have noticed  here  and  here  and quite enjoyed Wicked The Musical, with its perspective of two witches Elphaba and Glinda from the Land of Oz. The set was wonderful, with references to the Land of Oz such as the Emerald City, cornfield and a field of poppies. It was lovely to see so many beautifully dressed audience members, with many of them wearing the colour emerald. I loved the enchanting costumes and the singing was absolu...
