Catch up, cats and kittens, don't get left behind

This summer has been so hot and muggy, I've become one of those annoying people who always whinge about the heat! On this particular day quite a few weeks ago, my mum and I decided to go to a little cafe by a river despite the week-long humidity.       We shared a seafood platter for lunch and a negrino drink, which was so strong we split it and topped it off with a large glass of lemonade. Despite the heat, we had a nice time by the river and chatted away.  Sometime during this period, unfortunately my mum and I got covid! After 2 years of avoiding it, I was so shocked to get it and instantly burst into tears. I had tested negative two days previously but was still sick and something in the back of my mind was nagging me to get another rapid test and do it before I visited my boyfriend one afternoon. I was up and dressed and ready to go and I thought, surely I don't have covid because I've already received a negative test... but I'll do one just in case . Thank go

Chocoholics, this way!

Recently, my mum and I had a day out to Daylesford. First we went to the chocolate factory, ordered some chocolates and shared a chilli hot chocolate. The added flavour of cardomen was so delicious and now I'm determined to make this at home myself.       Next, wetook some photos in front of the gorgeous lavender and trees.        At one point, two chickens were chasing me which may have looked comical to others but I was terrified!     We chatted to a lovely lady and her son who were holidaying in Daylesford for the week, and they kindly offered to take a photo of mum and I together.   I held my mum's parasol to prevent my shoulders from getting sunburnt and received quite a few compliments on the parasol.   For lunch, we sat and ate under the trees - munching on a simple salami and cheese roll and sipping lavender lemonade, neither which we enjoyed. Although we didn't have much choice as there was a limited amount of food available because the previous night's

Just Another Day

Ah, a day at the beach! Hope you're not sick of my beach blog posts yet! These photos were taken a few weeks ago when it was hot and muggy all week. In the past, I've always enjoyed summer but this year's humidity has overwhelmed me. What to do but have a day out at the beach! Mum and I went to Williamstown beach, one of our favourites. First we stopped off at the opshop, and I quickly found a mustard, carved Bakelite bangle for $2!! They sell for $100+ in vintage stores so I was stoked to add this to my collection.      Outfit details: Umbrella to shield us from the sun - mum found this at a market. Mexican dress ($3), woven bag ($15), sunglasses ($2) - market finds. Spanish made sandals ($8) - brand new from an opshop! You don't have to spend heaps to dress up or feel cute!     Then we made our way to the gorgeous pier and admired the sparking water and white boats. One boat was named 'Another Day,' which quickly prompted us to sing the catchy Paul McCartne
