Dreaming of Vintage Treasures

  My mum and I always love returning to our favourite country town Daylesford but this time I learnt about a small hot chocolate factory that we'd never known about. The wonders of Instagram! In a cute little store, dark painting features with wooden shelves stored jars of cocoa and all types of spices. At $11 for a hot chocolate, this was a bit of a fancy chocolate experience. On a cold, rainy day, I really enjoyed my milk chocolate hot chocolate with a marshmallow locally made in the next country town, Ballarat. It was a day for indoor activities, as the rain prevented us from walking around the lake, so we headed to the Vintage Mills Market. When you tell yourself you're not going to spend any more money, of course that's when you find all the best things! I found lots of beautiful wooden furniture pieces, leather jackets, vintage rocking horses and a giant Mary statue that I loved. My mum and I wore our warm Afghan coats. Twinning!  A day in Daylesford is simply the best. There's a Vintage Mills Market that you can walk around and be thoroughly entertained even if you don't purchase anything. I loved seeing some artworks of Frida Kahlo, an Orthodox icon, some carnival rides, posters and a Mickey Mouse telephone. This handmade crochet dress was gorgeous as was this coat made from a blanket! Outside the Mills Market, they now have a garden section. Next, my mum and I went to our favourite honey stall. I bought a huge tub of honey - 5kgs! I go through it with all the teas and matchas I drink! Then we were off to our other favourite place in Daylesford which we've visited many times before: The Convent Restaurant. Outfit details: Tree of Life coat: eBay find. Red, leather bag: Market find. After 11 weeks of term 2, preparing reports and completing parent-teacher interviews, I farewelled my grade 2 students, and began my two weeks of holidays. I was looking forward to spending time with my family and grandparents, as well as squeezing in some day trips. My mum and I returned to our favourite place, Daylesford. It was a cold, winter's day so we rugged up in big coats which kept us surprisingly toasty. I wore my tartan coat that I recently bought at a market. I had been looking for a big, long coat for some time as well as watching Gilmore Girls and admiring all of the beautiful coats worn on the show.     Recently, I've been loving the colour pink. I think it may be because I've been seeing so many reels of cute, pink kitchens on Instagram or perhaps it's because I've been adoring my pink, strawberry jug I shared on my blog recently . Regardless, I've never really paid much attention to the colour pink until recently. I was determined to find a pink dress and luckily I didn't have to look far because I found this pink and red dress at the next opshop I visited, Savers. A bit pricey for opshops ($15.80), but I was happy to purchase this dress because it's beautiful and Sportsgirl sell their dresses for $80+ in their stores.     I had to take my new-to-me dress out for a twirl on a day out to Daylesford with my mum.
