Foolishly laying our hearts on the table, stumblin' in

Image
It's nearly Valentine's Day! Whether you're single or in love, I hope this is a wonderful week for you! A few weeks ago, I was thinking of buying a love heart dress to wear for Valentine's Day but then I remembered all the red and pink dresses I already have in my wardrobe. I'm trying to be more mindful of what I buy as my closet is absolutely full! I've been trying to sell some clothes on eBay so I have a bit more space, but that is a slow process as clothes don't always sell quickly. What are your plans for today? Simply the best

My favourite outfits of 2023! Dressing up is so fun to me. And I find dresses, coats, boots, sandals, vintage bags, a nice necklace and sunglasses are my go-to items to wear. Thanks so much for visiting my blog this year. See you in 2024. Which outfit is your favourite? X   Title :  Simply the Best  by Tina Turner.

When my blue moon turns to gold again

The last time I'd been to the Collingwood Farm was years ago, on my birthday, in a time long before my blog days. Looking through my old posts, I've just realised that I began blogging in April 2018, so it's been 5 years, how time flies!   My family and I used to like walking around, looking at the animals, vegetables and fruit trees at the Collingwood farm. A few weeks ago, my mum and I returned and enjoyed a walk through the gardens.   I wore my new Kmart dress. I love this style of dress on me, with the square neckline and shirring. And the colour is nice too! I bought another gingham dress from Kmart in the last 12 months, I reckon one of the designers has a thing for gingham like me.   With some brown boots, my vintage fluffy bag, my mum's sunnies and a rose quartz pendant I found at a market, my outfit was complete! Dresses are so easy. Add some cute shoes and a bag, and you're pretty much ready to go.     I loved seeing the autumnal leaves turn...

The Wild Horse Runs Free Forever

Last Sunday, my family and I had a lovely day celebrating Mother's Day. As soon as I woke up, I made my mum some profiteroles as she requested. Does the best daughter of the year award go to me? Haha! Then I made breakfast using some leftovers, it was delicious!   We struggled to book a restaurant for lunch as everywhere we rang was booked, so we decided to drive to Arundel Farm Estate to see if they had any vacancies. They were fully booked too but at least the horses were happy to see us!   We drove down to Keilor Pub and there was a table available for us to have lunch, hooray! I enjoyed my steak sandwich, my dad liked his calamari with chips, my sister enjoyed her mussels in spicy tomato sauce and my mum ordered a fillet of barramundi with vegetables.       Do you like my new Kmart dress? I liked adding the orange and red accessories - block heel boots, a coral pendant and bangle with my vintage leather, tooled bag.     After lunch, we po...

Run and tell all of the angels, this could take all night

Good morning from sunny Melbourne! After a couple of weeks of cold weather, we will be enjoying some 26 °C warmth over the next two days. Today is my first day of term holidays and I thought it was the perfect time to catch up on writing a blog post! A few week's ago, my sister noticed a lotus farm being advertised online, so off we went to the Blue Lotus Farm, for a family day out. This is the first sight that greeted us. Lotuses everywhere!   We wandered around the beautiful garden, admiring all the different types of lotus species.     Above is the Australian lotus variety and below is one of the world's largest lotus species.   I wore a white dress with big, ruffled sleeves. The last time I wore this dress was a few years ago when the New South Wales bushfires wreaked havoc on our holiday, but worse than that, people's lives and homes. So I decided to wear the dress and make new, happy memories in it!    Mum wore her new Tree of Life dress. Isn't she ...

Oh, the sweetest thing

Welcome back to one of my favourite cafes - Old Man Drew. It's has such a beautiful, quirky and retro atmosphere. Plus the food's delicious. In the past,  I had a heart-warming home made pie and a cherry pie . I still dream of those meals! The last time my mum and I went, we just popped in for a slice of cheesecake and hot chocolate. It was creamy, rich and filled me up so much, I didn't feel like eating lunch after that. They should pay me for how much I boast about them!       Around this time, we got Covid and then I could only dream about going to nice places and eating out. I spent the next very hot week laying in a hammock, reading and generally feeling a bit miserable.        I felt exhausted for weeks, but I'm much better now, 2 months on. I'll be getting my 4th booster shot in a few months. How about you?   Anyway, enough covid talk. Look at the beautiful sights that can be seen around every corner of Old Man Drew. ...
