Dreaming of Vintage Treasures

Recently, my mum and I had a day out to Daylesford. First we went to the chocolate factory, ordered some chocolates and shared a chilli hot chocolate. The added flavour of cardomen was so delicious and now I'm determined to make this at home myself.       Next, wetook some photos in front of the gorgeous lavender and trees.        At one point, two chickens were chasing me which may have looked comical to others but I was terrified!     We chatted to a lovely lady and her son who were holidaying in Daylesford for the week, and they kindly offered to take a photo of mum and I together.   I held my mum's parasol to prevent my shoulders from getting sunburnt and received quite a few compliments on the parasol.   For lunch, we sat and ate under the trees - munching on a simple salami and cheese roll and sipping lavender lemonade, neither which we enjoyed.   Melbourne recently came out of its 6th lockdown and guess what the first thing mum and I did? We went to Spotlight (a huge craft and sewing store) which we were so enthusiastic about. We also went to our favourite country town Daylesford. Over a recent long weekend, we had some nice, sunny weather so mum and I decided it was a perfect day for an adventure.                  We happily wandered around Jubilee Lake and soaked up the sights. The peacocks and ducks even came out to play. Then mum had the bright idea to go on a paddle boat. Last Tuesday, I had a lovely day out to the country. It started with an obligatory visit to the vintage market, where I found quite a few vintage treasures - some vintage plates, an orange Mexican bag and beaded sandals made in Italy.  It was a day of finds!  I've neglected to take photos of them but they'll appear in a blog post at some point. I was glad that the market wasn't too busy so it was easy to social distance. After a quick stop at the fish and chip shop for a souvlaki (yum!),  I noticed a botanical garden which I'd never visited before. It was so cold but that didn't stop me from strolling through the gorgeous forest.  Tiptoeing down the hill was hilarious! Sure, I love these suede boots but they have absolutely no grip on the sole!  I was unable to stop myself from sliding down the hill, laughing and squalling - it was so funny!  When I found these unworn Trenery boots for $5 at a secondh...
