A new day will dawn for those who stand long and the forests will echo with laughter

Montsalvat on a sunny day feels like stepping into a dream. Stone buildings warmed by golden light, their medieval arches casting soft shadows on the ground.  The air is sweet with the scent of wisteria, gently swaying in the breeze.  Around every corner is another building to admire. Fairy lights twinkle, evoking a magical atmosphere. Artists paint quietly in the studios, people chatter enjoying picnics and singers perform and strum their guitars.  Sunlight dances on the pond’s surface and everything feels magical.  A small chapel invites peaceful reflection and a moment for prayer. The beauty of Montsalvat lies in its timeless atmosphere filled with art, nature, medieval-style stone buildings and sun-dappled gardens. It feels like a beautiful, peaceful sanctuary.  Title : Stairway to Heaven by Led Zeppelin Please visit my: eBay Store Instagram

Someone told me there's a girl out there with love in her eyes and flowers in her hair

Striking a pose in front of pink blossoms always seems like a good idea—until you realize you’re basically standing in a swarm of bees.   You’re trying to give “ethereal woodland fairy,” but you're quietly hoping the bees aren't bothered by your presence and don't want to sting you. You only have a limited amount of time to capture a photo of the blossoms because the wind could blow them away at any moment. Of course I had to wear a bright pink, floral dress to match the blossoms. This is a Tree Of Life dress I found on eBay early this year.  Something else that was pink... a beautiful sunset. Also in the backyard, is an abundance of lemons. When life gives you lemons, make lemon cake and limoncello, I say!  A little while ago, my friend Renee came over for a catch up and I made this lemon cake for the occasion. With the leftover lemon syrup, I made some limoncello! I don't really drink alcohol but I don't mind a little limoncello. Some other news... I enjoyed watc...

Measuring a summer's day, I only finds it slips away to grey

Day 4 of our Eden holiday began with three rainbow lorikeets greeting us and landing on my mum's hand to eat some panettone, of all things! My family and I had a lazy morning, where I did lots of embroidery. I embroidered three large poppies on a lilac, cotton bag which I'll use to carry shopping/groceries. For lunch, my family and I went to the Great Southern Hotel Inn. My mum and I enjoyed a delicious rump steak with mushroom sauce, vegetables and roast potatoes. It was so tasty and I looked forward to returning. After lunch, we drove around the wharf and lookout and admired  the beautiful, blue water.   The afternoon was spent relaxing, journaling, eating ice-cream and seeing more rainbow parakeets as they returned for an afternoon snack! I hope you don't get sick of seeing my same sunglasses, straw bag and sandals in my holiday posts. I only packed two small bags and tried to choose items that I love that also go with my dresses! Leaves are falling all around, it's time I was on my way

Greetings!  Here are some snaps of nature in my neck of the woods. These pink flowers bloom near my sister's work and I remember last taking photos in front of them here . June 2021       Mum and I had the urge to visit the Horseshoe Bend Farm, a place we haven't visited in years! We were sad to see it was abandoned. No more horses or other animals or craft activities or cafes. I have fond memories playing here with my friend Renee and my cousins and sister.       So we just entertained ourselves by walking around and taking some photos, as you do.  Look at this huge fig tree! I hope to grow a nice, big fig tree in my own home one day.     After a wander, we drove home, but not before capturing these beautiful trees in all their red, autumnal delight.       I hope your day is as beautiful as these trees.  X        Title : Ramble On by Led Zeppelin.

A new day will dawn for those who stand long

This time last year I was happily frolicking around a park after a visit to an op-shop.   The tulips were dazzling and I was shimmering in my vintage fringed skirt.   The ducks even came out to say hello!   I remember an elderly lady struck up a conversation with mum and I and we talked about our love of fashion. The lady told us how she loved collecting pink clothing and we admired her pink outfit. She was so sweet. I love how fashion is such a great conversation starter.     On that particular day, I scored a vintage scarf made in Italy and a vintage patchwork skirt.    While many in the world exhale a collective sigh of relief over the news that Biden has won the American presidency, Melbourne is also relieved in the latest corona-virus figures. We've had 8 days of zero cases and people are starting to enjoy eating out and shopping again. As Tuesday was a public holiday, mum and I were glad to pop into an opshop, a simple pleasure that we haven't...

Tangerine, tangerine, living reflection from a dream

Orange you glad to see me? I couldn't resist that pun, as I've made the most delicious batch of glaceed oranges from the oranges on our tree. I cut them into thin slices and boiled them in a sugar and water syrup for one hour...  ...and then placed them onto an orange cake I made. Delicious! I treasure the sight, taste and fragrance of our oranges. I even like taking photos in front of the tree pictured behind me, as the pop of orange colour always delights me.  We've now picked the last of the oranges, so you'll just have to delight in my pink outfit instead. Outfit details: Shawl and block-heeled boots: Secondhand market finds. Corduroy skirt: Uniqlo sale. Turtleneck: Retail, years ago. I've worn this pink cord skirt quite a few times this winter and love the warm colour of it. And this shawl is a perfect way to add some visual interest and a layer of warmth to any outfit. I often find it har...
