The sweetest dream would never do


 I had a beautiful birthday this year. I spent time with my loved ones, moments I treasure. I took a flexi day off work and my mum took me to lunch at our new favourite cafe The Glass Den.


We both ordered truffled mushrooms on toasted focaccia topped with creamy burrata and a swirl of herb oil! It tasted delicious and I enjoyed every bite. So enjoyable that my mum and I decided to go to the supermarket and buy all the ingredients to make the same thing for dinner! How funny is that! 




After lunch, we wandered around the Coburg Lake Park and admired the trees and lake. I wore my 100% wool dress under my sunflower Afghan coat to keep me warm.




We stopped off to drop some things off at an op-shop then went home to a delightful Basque cheesecake that my sister made me.

 Anyone fancy tagging along to lunch and a show? A little while ago, my sister, mum and I went into the city to watch the Shirley Valentine theatre show. Shirley Valentine is a classic movie from 1989 about a 42 year old woman who goes on a trip with her friend to Greece to escape her monotonous lifestyle and she discovers new adventure and independence. It is a funny and moving film that my mum, sister and I have watched many times over the years. Hence we were curious what the theatre show would be like. At the Athenaeum Theatre, Natalie Bassingthwaighte did an amazing job in the one woman show. For the show, my mum and I accidentally ended up both wearing floral dresses, which funnily enough perfectly matched the theme of the show. I also wore my giant butterfly clip in my hair. And I'll be better when I'm older

A little while ago, I visited a beautiful rose garden in Werribee with my family.  It's a gentle, fragrant experience, strolling around paths that offer  a new scent to discover as you stop to smell the different roses.  Each bloom has its own personality and colour, filling the air with fragrance.  We enjoyed a picnic of schnitzels, fresh rolls, and crisp coleslaw, the food tasting even better outdoors.  I rugged up in a big, fluffy, sunflower coat and enjoyed being outside in nature. You light me up like starlight on a Christmas tree

 As always, I've been busy, busy, busy this week. Yes it is worth writing three times, but then again the end of year is a busy time for many people. Christmas shopping and celebrating, catching up with loved ones, racing to the end of the work year. Yesterday was spent visiting family friends which was nice. This morning I had brunch with a couple of friends from high school. It's always good to catch up on each other's lives and while away hours chatting. Some other dear family friends visited this afternoon and now I've got the last few hours of the weekend to myself. Before I get to relaxing, I wanted to share some Christmas-y photos with you.
