Someone told me there's a girl out there with love in her eyes and flowers in her hair

Striking a pose in front of pink blossoms always seems like a good idea—until you realize you’re basically standing in a swarm of bees.   You’re trying to give “ethereal woodland fairy,” but you're quietly hoping the bees aren't bothered by your presence and don't want to sting you. You only have a limited amount of time to capture a photo of the blossoms because the wind could blow them away at any moment.

Of course I had to wear a bright pink, floral dress to match the blossoms. This is a Tree Of Life dress I found on eBay early this year. 

Something else that was pink... a beautiful sunset.

Also in the backyard, is an abundance of lemons. When life gives you lemons, make lemon cake and limoncello, I say! 

A little while ago, my friend Renee came over for a catch up and I made this lemon cake for the occasion. With the leftover lemon syrup, I made some limoncello! I don't really drink alcohol but I don't mind a little limoncello.

Some other news... I enjoyed watching a scented singalong version of the film Wicked, an event my sister worked at. I received a box full of little lollies and scents to sniff at various points of the movie. It was a clever idea.

Do you like my painting? I created it at a work event, it was fun following a step-by-step video whilst eating and chatting with my work friends.

Two other things that have been giving me joy lately: a pecan pie I made and some red wattle I picked on one of my walks. We're so lucky to have this growing everywhere in Australia.

    Oh, the pink blossoms are so lovely, Jess - you look fabulous next to them in your pretty dress! A scented sing-along sounds fun! What a cool idea!

 Anyone fancy tagging along to lunch and a show? A little while ago, my sister, mum and I went into the city to watch the Shirley Valentine theatre show. Shirley Valentine is a classic movie from 1989 about a 42 year old woman who goes on a trip with her friend to Greece to escape her monotonous lifestyle and she discovers new adventure and independence. It is a funny and moving film that my mum, sister and I have watched many times over the years. Hence we were curious what the theatre show would be like. At the Athenaeum Theatre, Natalie Bassingthwaighte did an amazing job in the one woman show. For the show, my mum and I accidentally ended up both wearing floral dresses, which funnily enough perfectly matched the theme of the show. I also wore my giant butterfly clip in my hair. Run and tell all of the angels, this could take all night

Earlier in the year, my family and I visited a strawberry farm in Bacchus Marsh. My sister and I love visiting fruit farms and being able to pick our own fruit! The strawberries were much sweeter and tastier than the bland ones usually found in supermarkets. I was delighted to buy some apples too. They had no wax on which is basically unheard of these days. Next we visited a beautiful, old church. I love how the arches are reminiscent of Noah's Ark. Even the door is purposely designed and ornate. We ended the day with some waffles I made from scratch and ate many more strawberries. Title : Dear Boy by Paul & Linda McCartney.

For who knows when we'll meet again this way

The end of our Eden holiday concluded with some time at the beach and a yummy BBQ - vegetables, sausages, onions and salmon.  It's always hard to say goodbye to the beautiful ocean, so I savored the last moments looking out at the water and thinking of all the things I'm grateful for. For the long drive home back to Melbourne, I wore my comfortable Mexican, embroidered dress. A few years ago, I found quite a few Mexican dresses, but haven't come across one in a very long time. I'd love one in red, wouldn't that look fantastic? On the drive, I visited this church that was hosting an art fair and admired this green home! Since returning home, I've done a lot of cooking. Here is a plate of my homemade sausage rolls and long green beans with nuts. I've also gone for some nice walks, sometimes picking flowers along the way. What have you been up to lately?
