It's no use pretending 'cause I understand

Anyone fancy tagging along to lunch and a show?

A little while ago, my sister, mum and I went into the city to watch the Shirley Valentine theatre show. Shirley Valentine is a classic movie from 1989 about a 42 year old woman who goes on a trip with her friend to Greece to escape her monotonous lifestyle and she discovers new adventure and independence.

It is a funny and moving film that my mum, sister and I have watched many times over the years. Hence we were curious what the theatre show would be like. At the Athenaeum Theatre, Natalie Bassingthwaighte did an amazing job in the one woman show.

For the show, my mum and I accidentally ended up both wearing floral dresses, which funnily enough perfectly matched the theme of the show. I also wore my giant butterfly clip in my hair.

For lunch, my sister and I both ordered the same thing - bao buns. It was okay but not that nice. The fried zucchini flower salad was a bit more interesting.

Before the day was finished, we browsed a bookstore. Has anyone read this book before? Is it worth reading?

Title: Burn for You by INXS.

  1. Hello. Yes you should definitely read ' The Picture of Dorian Gray'. Oscar Wilde is a great author and well worth reading.

  2. I love Shirley Valentine and rewatch it every few years, Pauline Collins, Tom Conti and Bernard Hill made the roles their own, it would be interesting to see other actors taking their place!
You, your mum and your sister all look beautiful.
I read Dorian Grey at school along with The Importance of Being Ernest - forty yeras on and I'd probably read a lot more meaning in Oscar Wilde's writing "Ernest" for example, was street slang for a homosexual in the 19th century! xxx

  3. What a lovely day out with your mom and sister. It's so fun that you and your mum accidentally matched the theme of the show. And Natalie Bassingthwaighte is such a great choice for that role; I can imagine she did a fantastic job.
