I'll be home for Christmas

Life lately...

I've been taking lots of walks around my neighbourhood. On one of my walks, I took some photos of these pretty flowers. My sister and I even ate a couple of cherries that were growing on a nearby nature strip. Wouldn't it be wonderful if many trees on nature strips were fruit trees?



I made my own gnocchi from scratch and thought fondly of my nonna whilst doing so. My sister, cousins and I used to make gnocchi most Saturdays with my nonna when we were growing up.  My gnocchi was delicious, I think she'd be proud of me.


I admired these Christmas decorations in a Moonee Ponds store. I love the pink themed trees. 



Last year, my sister and I visited the same store. There's so many Christmas trees and decorations to be admired.



My mum and I accidentally discovered a vintage furniture shop recently. I love the intricate details on the wood. There's a treasure around every corner.





And last but not least, a yummy lunch with my mum at one of our favourite places - Poynton's Nursery. It has a garden area and cafe and I really enjoyed this prawn and chorizo pasta.

    I'm loving the pink themed Christmas trees too ... I wanted a kitschy white one but couldn't find one I liked. Your gnocchi does look delicious and I'm sure you did your nonna proud!

After 11 weeks of term 2, preparing reports and completing parent-teacher interviews, I farewelled my grade 2 students, and began my two weeks of holidays. I was looking forward to spending time with my family and grandparents, as well as squeezing in some day trips. My mum and I returned to our favourite place, Daylesford. It was a cold, winter's day so we rugged up in big coats which kept us surprisingly toasty. I wore my tartan coat that I recently bought at a market. I had been looking for a big, long coat for some time as well as watching Gilmore Girls and admiring all of the beautiful coats worn on the show. So when I found this brand new coat, I was happy to hand over my $25. At Daylesford, we first roamed the Vintage Mills Market. It's always fun to have a look at the unique items. Run and tell all of the angels, this could take all night

Earlier in the year, my family and I visited a strawberry farm in Bacchus Marsh. My sister and I love visiting fruit farms and being able to pick our own fruit! The strawberries were much sweeter and tastier than the bland ones usually found in supermarkets. I was delighted to buy some apples too. They had no wax on which is basically unheard of these days. Next we visited a beautiful, old church. I love how the arches are reminiscent of Noah's Ark. Even the door is purposely designed and ornate. We ended the day with some waffles I made from scratch and ate many more strawberries. Title : Dear Boy by Paul & Linda McCartney.

For who knows when we'll meet again this way

The end of our Eden holiday concluded with some time at the beach and a yummy BBQ - vegetables, sausages, onions and salmon.  It's always hard to say goodbye to the beautiful ocean, so I savored the last moments looking out at the water and thinking of all the things I'm grateful for. For the long drive home back to Melbourne, I wore my comfortable Mexican, embroidered dress. A few years ago, I found quite a few Mexican dresses, but haven't come across one in a very long time. I'd love one in red, wouldn't that look fantastic? On the drive, I visited this church that was hosting an art fair and admired this green home! Since returning home, I've done a lot of cooking. Here is a plate of my homemade sausage rolls and long green beans with nuts. I've also gone for some nice walks, sometimes picking flowers along the way. What have you been up to lately?
