And the music was soothing, and they all started grooving!
Hello! How has your week in isolation been?
I've continued working from home 5 days a week and am getting more comfortable about having to teach my students through online classes.
As soon as the working day is done, I've been eager to get out in the sunshine and go for a walk.
Working from home means that I need to make quick meals in the breaks I give myself. I've been living on bread, cheese and vegetables - yum!
This sparkling grapejuice and lettuce from the garden brightened up my lunch.
On the weekends, I've tended to my plants and gone on walks to the valley.
I'm so excited that my lettuce, broad beans and sunflowers are growing. I'm determined to have my own sunflower field.
I've been getting dressed in velvet pants and turtlenecks during the week (it's been cold), but as soon as it warmed up last Saturday, I threw on this dress.
Outfit details:
Dress - my mum's closet.
Whiting and Davis snake bangle - secondhand find, $7.
Pendant - bought years ago for $5!
Gold sandals - Xmas gift.
Red sunnies - second hand find, a couple dollars.
Velvet, gold strappy sandals, a faux amber pendant and a snake bangle - that's my idea of decadent dressing!
And what am I so excited about? you may be wondering.
Saturday night, that's what! It's time to put your best outfit on, play all your favourite rock 'n' roll hits, and dance/sing the night away!
My sister and I used to make up dances to Ballroom Blitz when we were children, and it was the perfect song to start off the night.
Please join in our Saturday night ritual of staying home and having a little party! X
Your quick meals look delicious and does that glass of sparkling grape juice. And well done on growing your own lettuce, broad beans and sunflowers! That dress is gorgeous - how lucky you are to be able to raid your Mum's wardrobe - and I'm head over heels with your faux amber pendant and a snake bangle! xxx
ReplyDeleteThanks Ann. Gardening, cooking and dressing up - that sums up some of the joys in my life at the moment. X

ReplyDeleteLoving that velvet dress on you, can I borrow it next? I can't believe you're able to wear sandals in the winter, it's so unfair!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous food photos and lovely growing pictures, too. I thought that was a glass of wine and I was rather jealous, I haven't had any for months! xxx
Hi Vix, yes of course you can borrow the dress!
DeleteThank goodness it's still autumn here, I definitely couldn't wear sandals in winter. Although it is getting decidedly more chilly.
I do enjoy taking a good food photo or two. X
I was singing "Ballroom Blitz" as soon as I saw your post title! I love that song - it goes back to my teen years! I adore that velvet dress, Jess - your mum must have such a fun closet (maybe she'll let you do a tour of it??).
ReplyDeleteYour food looks so yummy! I've been eating rice noodles with veg on my days off as my lunch, and my Sunday breakfast is waffles with Greek yoghurt and jam (yum).
Ballroom Blitz is such a great song and I'm glad you agree!
DeleteThat sounds like a good idea, I might do a tour of her closet and my own one day.
Mmm, waffles. That sounds delicious. X
