I can tell by your eyes that you've probably been crying forever

February and March have been a time full of concerts for me. First, my family and I went to see the Sunnyboys farewell show earlier in the year, then soon after that we saw Harry Styles in concert, then Cyndi Lauper and Rod Stewart just this week! Music galore!   My sister organised tickets to see Harry Styles and it was so fun singing and dancing the night away. I loved seeing the audience's retro, colourful outfits, I wish I'd taken photos! I came away loving his songs and thinking that he was very sweet and humble. I especially loved the songs 'Golden', 'As It Was', 'Sign of the Times', 'Late Night Talking' and many others.   This Wednesday, my mum, dad and I went to see Rod Stewart's concert, with Cyndi Lauper opening the show. Cyndi Lauper sang amazingly and I loved her eccentric fashion and mow-hawk, it's so her! 'True Colours' always makes me cry, and of course I loved 'Girls Just Wanna Have Fun' too, where she t...

With love, from me to you

It's so hot in Melbourne as I write this, I'm sweating and clutching my iced water but nevermind that, let me take you back to last month when my mum and I went to the beautiful Lavendula farm near Daylesford. The lavender fragrance filled the air and greeted us as soon as we arrived.     I had gnocchi with cheese, mushrooms and asparagus for lunch and my mum enjoyed her canelloni. We sat under some lovely trees and enjoyed our surroundings.   We walked around the farm and spotted geese, emus and lamas. Boy, did the emus scare me, they look so mean! I spotted a wild berry bush and ate some berries. They were so sweet and delicious, I could hear my nonna's voice in my head saying "they're full of antioxidants!". I love her!       I wore my new-to-me pastel gingham dress that I bought at a secondhand market for $5. Pretty good, don't you think? The only thing is that in photos, the sun bleaches out the colours and the dress looks white. Still, my...

Happy new year, may we all have a vision now and then

New Years by the beach - perfection. Our first morning on holiday at Eden consisted of going on a beach walk. There's something special about getting your feet wet and admiring the sparkling, blue water.   My family wandered around a wharf, a park and a lookout. I spotted a brick house near the beach surrounded by a picket fence (not pictured), with only one neighbour, right by a small forest and the beach. I declared it the best place for a home in Australia! I wonder if the residents love where they live.  My mum made the kaftan she's wearing! It looks so professional to me, like it's straight out of a shop! I'm wearing my mum's old, hand-me-down maxi dress. It was a nice, slow paced day of walking around, after seeing the midnight new year's fireworks the night before. I could get used to this relaxed lifestyle eating  by the beach and swimming each afternoon. How did you spend the beginning of 2023? Title : Happy New Year by ABBA.

Let's hope it's a good one, without any fear

Happy new year's eve everyone! I hope you had some joyous moments throughout 2022! Even in times of sadness, I have come to realise that there is still so much beauty and love around us and things to be grateful for.  As I've been cleaning up the photos from my phone (I take so many!), I've found some that I haven't shared throughout the year. I'll slowly get around to posting them now that I have summer holidays before I start with my new grade 2 class at the end of January. Mum and I discovered a couple of Mexican restaurants recently. I loved the interiors of this place. I also took great joy in growing my own tulips this year!  Of course I loved putting together outfits too. I can't wait to go on many day trips with my mum while I'm on holidays. We'll surely return to this restaurant near my dad's work. The Mexican flan is absolutely amazing. There have been many happy memories from this year and I'm glad I took so many photos because other...
