Seaside Rendezvous

After seeing out 2018 with a bang of fireworks on the beach, my family and I returned to Merimbula for our tradition of having lunch at the RSL.


After lunch, we walked to the Boardwalk, which is a long pier along the lake shore. It was a so lovely - we spotted lots of oysters and tiny crabs in the water. We even heard an animal rustling in the bushes and discovered an echidna! I've only ever seen this wild Australian mammal in the zoo, so it was cool to see one up close.



Even though we've visited Merimbula many times before, we'd never known about the Boardwalk. When I was talking to another teacher, she recommended it and said that she was also holidaying there. We were glad to discover a new place to wander around and wouldn't you know it, we bumped into the very same teacher and had a nice chat!



Before driving back to Eden, we stopped off at a few places...


First, we checked out the kangaroos in Pambula, that live on a corner block, right next to a house!


Pambula's beach is beautifully turquoise - we made a mental note to return there.


This is the view from the side of the bay where we were staying. Can you see the cabins in the far background?


Here's the Eden hippy house - it's decorated with bright colours, I love it! 


I look like I'd fit right into that hippy house, don't I? I bought this colourful dress a few days previously, which I wrote about here.

    That is a gorgeous summer maxi dress - I can almost feel the warm ocean breezes! Hope you are enjoying your summer - we're freezing over here!

  A little while ago, my mum, sister and I had lunch at one of our favourite places in the city, Conservatory. It's an all you can eat restaurant with a wide variety of food. Mostly I dream of the seafood and I was SO excited to go. I love the lighted ceiling and marble staircase that greets you on the way in. She's the lady who wears those flashing eyes

    Recently, I've been loving the colour pink. I think it may be because I've been seeing so many reels of cute, pink kitchens on Instagram or perhaps it's because I've been adoring my pink, strawberry jug I shared on my blog recently . Regardless, I've never really paid much attention to the colour pink until recently. I was determined to find a pink dress and luckily I didn't have to look far because I found this pink and red dress at the next opshop I visited, Savers. A bit pricey for opshops ($15.80), but I was happy to purchase this dress because it's beautiful and Sportsgirl sell their dresses for $80+ in their stores.     I had to take my new-to-me dress out for a twirl on a day out to Daylesford with my mum. She wanted to visit the lavender farm again whilst the purple delights were still in bloom.           The scent of lavendar was wonderful. Beach baby, beach baby, give me your hand

A day by the beach, what could be better? One sunny day on my work holidays, my mum and I visited Geelong beach. First we popped into the Vintage Mills Market. Looks at these vintage treasures... Next we strolled by the beach.  Passing the  carousal , we couldn't resist having some childlike fun. The Carousel's website says: " The Armitage-Herschell portable steam driven, hand-carved wooden carousel was constructed circa 1892 and is one of only 200 in operation around the world.   Featuring 36 Dare horses and 2 chariots, it was purchased by the Steampacket Place Development Board in 1996 and painstakingly restored." The view from the carosaul centre is beautiful. For lunch, we ate at a lovely restaurant by the beach called Fisherman's Pier. We love returning to enjoy the seafood linguini - delicious!  The four beach ladies waved us goodbye as we made our way back to our car. Goodbye beach, it was nice seeing you!
