Lazing on a sunny afternoon

We started off Day 2 of our Lorne holiday with a rare sleep in. I hardly ever sleep in due to waking up early for work and even earlier on weekends for the Sunday market! 


We walked to the Trash and Treasure in a church hall right across from the beach and later strolled through the Lorne weekend market. There weren't many things of interest, mostly new things, although there were some nice wool fedoras. At the princely sum of $75, I couldn't justify spending that much on a hat when I already have so many hats bought at a fraction of the cost.
I don't think I have enough hats, do you?


Then we walked to the pier to eat at a beautiful restaurant right by the beach. Our neighbour, who often visits Lorne, had recommended the seafood marinara at this restaurant and it was delicious.


 My mum got to live out her Shirley Valentine dream. She loves the scene in that movie where Shirley sits on a table right by the beach and relaxes. 


After lunch, we strolled along the pier, took some photos and saw lots of people fishing.




After an afternoon rest back at the motel, we ventured out again at night for a walk by the beach and a visit to the ice-cream shop. There were so many unusual flavours so we tried the watermelon sorbet and ginger ice-cream. Thank goodness we walked everywhere on this holiday as we had an ice-cream every night!

As we walked back to the motel, the full moon was out and it glistened on the ocean water. It was such a beautiful sight.

  A little while ago, my mum, sister and I had lunch at one of our favourite places in the city, Conservatory. It's an all you can eat restaurant with a wide variety of food. Mostly I dream of the seafood and I was SO excited to go. I love the lighted ceiling and marble staircase that greets you on the way in. She's the lady who wears those flashing eyes

    Recently, I've been loving the colour pink. I think it may be because I've been seeing so many reels of cute, pink kitchens on Instagram or perhaps it's because I've been adoring my pink, strawberry jug I shared on my blog recently . Regardless, I've never really paid much attention to the colour pink until recently. I was determined to find a pink dress and luckily I didn't have to look far because I found this pink and red dress at the next opshop I visited, Savers. A bit pricey for opshops ($15.80), but I was happy to purchase this dress because it's beautiful and Sportsgirl sell their dresses for $80+ in their stores.     I had to take my new-to-me dress out for a twirl on a day out to Daylesford with my mum. She wanted to visit the lavender farm again whilst the purple delights were still in bloom.           The scent of lavendar was wonderful. Beach baby, beach baby, give me your hand

A day by the beach, what could be better? One sunny day on my work holidays, my mum and I visited Geelong beach. First we popped into the Vintage Mills Market. Looks at these vintage treasures... Next we strolled by the beach.  Passing the  carousal , we couldn't resist having some childlike fun. The Carousel's website says: " The Armitage-Herschell portable steam driven, hand-carved wooden carousel was constructed circa 1892 and is one of only 200 in operation around the world.   Featuring 36 Dare horses and 2 chariots, it was purchased by the Steampacket Place Development Board in 1996 and painstakingly restored." The view from the carosaul centre is beautiful. For lunch, we ate at a lovely restaurant by the beach called Fisherman's Pier. We love returning to enjoy the seafood linguini - delicious!  The four beach ladies waved us goodbye as we made our way back to our car. Goodbye beach, it was nice seeing you!
