New holiday traditions

Our final two days in Eden...

My family, boyfriend and I had lunch at the Merimbula RSL, a tradition we've been doing for years. I had the beef and black been and we shared a tiramisu. But then we noticed an interesting restaurant hidden around a corner that we've never seen in all our years we've come here. It was an aquarium restaurant. After we wandered around the fishing pier and chatted to an excited man who caught a big fish on the rocks, we decided to return the next day for lunch.

On the drive back, we stopped off at an oyster farm and enjoyed eating them by the water. Back at the cabin, dad, Alex and I went swimming. The beach waves were so rough, my dad flipped over with his feet comically lifted up in the air at least three times! My boyfriend and I spent the afternoon continuing our paint by numbers, we've been loving it.

We returned to the Merimbula the next day to have lunch at the aquarium restaurant. I wore my new white dress and red lipstick, which made me feel a bit like Marilyn.

Before eating, my family, boyfriend and I walked down the Merimbula boardwalk. The water was so beautiful glistening in the sun and we were thrilled to spot a big group of large fish. They were successfully dodging the fishermen nearby.

At the restaurant, we had the most delicious seafood pasta with prawns, crayfish, mussels, vongole, scallops and fish pieces. We decided that instead of revisiting the RSL, we'd make coming back to this restaurant our new tradition.

Just look at it!

Afterwards, we drove around and spotted an echidna. A perfect way to end or holiday - spotting fish and an echidna in one day!

And the holiday posts conclude - I hope you've enjoyed the sunny snaps!
