I've thought about us for a long, long time

Hello, it's me! I'm finally on work holidays, which is a joy after completing reports for my students. Reports are always a long and sometimes stressful process so I'm glad and very grateful to be able to relax for 2 weeks.  Here are some things I've been up to lately...   Opshopping!  I've noticed that I don't find many great treasures at opshops any more. I may find a few small things here and there, such as a scarf, book or DVD, costing $1-2 each, but no really amazing finds or pieces of clothing lately.    To me, the markets are where all the exciting finds are! Last Sunday, I found all these pieces for a grand total of $61. Cable knit sweater - $10 1940s style short sleeved sweater - $5 Velvet pants and cord pants -$7.50 each Coral pendant - $20 Pink, vintage saucer- $2 And three bags of feijoas - $9.   Can you believe I scored this sterling silver and coral pendant for only $20? I collect coral jewellery and have been wearing this pendant all...

Happy Monday! Here in Melbourne, we have the day off for the Queen's birthday long weekend. I've been glued to my laptop this weekend, working on my students' reports, so it was nice to have a break and get out of the house yesterday. My family and I went for a drive to Diggers Rest.      We are people from the suburbs so naturally we take photos by bales of hay when we come across them!  We spotted some cute sheep and adorable lambs, who were a bit camera shy, probably wondering who are these strange people and why are they taking photos of us ?    Right where I was standing, there was actually a small monument dedicated to Harry Houdini, who flew the first flying contraption in Australia in these fields in 1910.   For lunch, we stopped off at the Keilor Pub Hotel. My sister and I were so hungry after all the driving around and both enjoyed our burgers. She had a vegan burger with sweet potato fries and I had a spicy chicken ...

...Well it's my birthday too, yeah

My birthday and my mum's birthday are exactly one week apart so May is always a fun month for us. I had the most beautiful birthday weekend last week. Let me tell you all about it... On Friday, I had a busy day planning at school and my students absolutely spoilt me with so many lovely cards and cute little gifts. I came home to a lovely dinner mum made - stuffed peppers (my favourite), pork, potatoes and a green bean salad. I'd ordered a Francese cake from Brunetti too! A delicious, creamy chocolate mousse cake - divine!  One of the highlights of the night was howling with laughter over the message my dad wrote in my birthday card. He usually writes really sweet, sentimental messages but this one was so ridiculous, my mum, sister, Pat and I were all crying with laughter. My family and boyfriend spoilt me with beautiful presents, I absolutely loved everything.   The next morning, a Saturday, I chipped away at my students' reports. After lunch, I went to my uncle Arthur...
