And as we wind on down the road

'Tis the season to have picnics!

And thank goodness for that as Covid-19 restrictions ever so slightly eased last Sunday. Outdoor gatherings of 5 people from 2 different households are now permitted.

Taking advantage of the sunny weather and this change in restrictions, my sister, mum and I had a nice day out earlier this week. We ventured to a local park to go for a walk, with face-masks and sunglasses for extra protection. We packed a picnic lunch so that we could have a bit of a rest in between walking.

We took some quick outfit photos and promptly put our face masks back on. Don't you just love my mum's gingham dress? It's perfect for picnics and she made it herself!

After a bit of a walk we sat in a field and had tuna and potato salad for lunch. Delicious! It was also lovely to be surrounded by a beautiful field dotted with daisies. There were only a few people picnicking so we practically had the field to ourselves.

When some giant bull-ants threatened to take over our picnic, we jumped up and decided it was time to continue our walk. Nevermind the bull-ants, what we really needed to be careful of was snakes as there's been some recent sightings of them in the area, especially near the little river.

Outfit details:

Snake-print Zara dress: Secondhand market, $10.

Boots: Retail sale purchase, $20-30 (I can't remember exactly).

Belt: Won in an Instagram giveaway.

Before going home, we went in search of some rabbits. Just last year, when my work friend and I visited this park, it was FULL of rabbits. Just as we were getting tired under the warm sun and just about ready to go home, I spotted a baby rabbit! We all 'awwwwwed' on cue, staying ever so still and quiet to not scare it. Content, we headed back to the car and returned home.

It was a lovely day, topped off with a video call with my old uni friend. I do love a good catch up!

Hope you have a lovely weekend.

X

  3. I'm pleased to hear that Covid-19 restrictions are slowly being eased, and that you were able to go on a picnic in the park. That must have been heavenly! Both you and your Mum are dressed fabulously, as always. Your Zara dress is such a delight! And I'm loving the sound of that delicious-looking salad. I have the same 1970s Tupperware tubs! xxx

I'm glad to hear that your restrictions are slowly being lifted. A third of the population are now in some form of lockdown although pubs, shops, schools and businesses remain open. I'm not allowed out of the gate for another seven days! xxx
