I'm sitting on the dock of the bay watching the tide roll away

Day 4 in Eden began with a swim in the beach. The water was so blue and clear, you could see shells and hermit crabs on the sand. For lunch, we went to Lakeview Bar and Grill in Merimbula, where we looked out to the water, chatted and enjoyed our meals. I ate burrata with nectarines, tomatoes, hot honey and bread. Next we went to the Merimbula icecream store, waited in a very long line, then sat and enjoyed an icecream. I got a frozen yoghurt with blueberres and made note of the Italian pistachio icecream to try another time. We wandered around the pier and saw some people fishing. I wore another Tree of Life dress that I found on eBay. This one is a block printed cotton, so very light and breezy for a hot day. Back at the cabin, my sister, mum and I made a gingerbread house which hilariously fell apart the moment we finished making it! For dinner, we went out to the Eden Coast Wok and Grill, which is right by a golf course. I enjoyed fish and chips and watching kangaroos hop aro...

Big wheel keep on turning, Proud Mary keep on burning

Day 3 in Eden began with a yummy breakfast I made - eggs on toast with smoked salmon, a slice of tomatoe, onions and dolma.  In the morning, my family and I drove to the main strip of shops in Eden and browsed some of the stores. I liked the pink, vintage vases in the antique store. We stopped off at the St Mary MacKillop Museum. Inside we saw some religious items and the Sisters of St Josephite habits. At school, I teach my students about Mary MacKillop each year. As Australia's first saint, she is known for her help in opening lots of schools, she helped people living in poverty and sick people in hospitals. Outside the museum, there was a cross where you could ring a white bell and there was also a Mary statue. And I can't forget the beautiful, blue ocean! For lunch, we went to the Oakland cafe. After seeing the menu the previous day, I was really looking forward to trying the blue cheese panna cotta with a rocket, apple and candied walnut salad and Turkish bread. It was abs...

I'm going back someday, come what may to Blue Bayou

During the summer, my family and I went on our annual holiday to Eden, New South Wales. The first morning there, I woke up at 7.30am and made pancakes with buttered walnuts, blueberries and honey and enjoyed it by the beach.  My family and I drove to coastal town Merimbula and stopped off at Oakland on the way. There, we saw some giant sunflowers, a cute gift store, a little cafe, a telephone booth, a brewery and a chocolate factory.  My mum and I loved the gardens. For lunch, we went to Merimbula Aquarium & Wharf Restaurant. It's a bit lavish and expensive, but we love returning once a year and we emjoy the delicious seafood pasta. For dinner, we had a bit of “this and that”, which basically means a mixture of food from the fridge, when you don’t feel like making a proper meal. Oysters, smoked salmon on cream cheese and crackers, dolma and leftover sausages -yum. The day ended with a walk around the caravan park, a swim at the beach and a photo by the "fish wall" (...
