Come what may to Blue Bayou

My sister loves organising holidays, which is great because if it were up to me, I'd never go anywhere! She is great at organising flights, cars, accomodation, activities. I'm happy just to go along with it all. Recently, my family and I went to Tasmania. The plane flight there was so nerve racking to me. I hadn't been on a plane in about 10 years and I was very nervous as my boyfriend dropped us off at the airport and throughout the flight.  I bought myself a creamy, chocolate Francese cake from Brunetti at the airport to distract myself! Upon take off, my sister tried to distract me with conversation but I immediately burst into quiet tears and then nervous laughter. I don't know how people travel for work all the time, I couldn't do it! When we arrived in Tasmania, we jumped into the hire car and went to Salamanca Market and admired a range of items such as lavender and honey products, jewellery, books, secondhand items, food products, clothing and flowers. Can you paint with all the colours of the wind?

A little while ago, my sister, mum and I went to visit a tulip farm. I chose to wear a pink wrap dress and coincidentally some flowers and blossoms agreed to match me!   The Tesselaar Tulip farm is so magical with rows upon rows of stunning, colourful tulips. The last time I included this dress in a blog post was in 2020, when I was recreating one of Priscilla Presley's outfit photos  here . We walked around and around in the sunny weather and got blown around by the wind. We rested on these perfectly placed seats under a tree filled with blossoms and surrounded by buzzing bees. I so look forward to eating these Dutch Poffertjes each time we visit. Powdered with icing sugar and topped with butter and maple syrup, they were absolutely delicious. At the end of the day, we got chatting to a nice, middle aged Greek lady. Some people are so friendly and can strike up a conversation with anyone.  See you in my next blog post. Because I knew you, I have been changed for good

Last Thursday night, my mum, sister and I went to see Wicked: The Musical in the city!  We quickly dressed and rushed there after work and made it just in the nick of time before the 7pm start. We marvelled at the ceiling and Romeo and Juliet style balcony. I even spotted a handful of Australian TV personalities, walking through a roped off area, which is something I've never seen here in Melbourne. Usually, we all just walk through the same entrance!  I absolutely love  The Wizard of Oz  as you may have noticed  here  and  here  and quite enjoyed Wicked The Musical, with its perspective of two witches Elphaba and Glinda from the Land of Oz. The set was wonderful, with references to the Land of Oz such as the Emerald City, cornfield and a field of poppies. It was lovely to see so many beautifully dressed audience members, with many of them wearing the colour emerald. I loved the enchanting costumes and the singing was absolu...

I look forward to my work holidays so much. I love going out and about and spending more time with my loved ones. These photos were actually taken last school holidays, can you believe that? First things first, my mum and I returned to Daylesford for our obligatory day out. At the Vintage Mills Market, there were so many things to admire. How cute is this lemon mug and jug set!  I love the carnival corner. We returned to one of our favourite places to eat, The Convent Gallery. The tulips were a welcoming sight. We dream about this seafood spaghetti. It was so delicious with lots of garlic, oil and lemon juice. We shared an aromatic mulled wine too. We ended our day with a nice stroll around the lake. With perfect weather, it was a wonderful day. We enjoyed the sight of ducks, yellow wattle trees and daisies.    Hope you've enjoyed tagging along with us on our day out!
