Open up your mind and let me step inside

What do you do when life gives you lemons? You could make lemonade but this weekend I decided to make some Italian lemon sorbet! It was my first attempt at making it and I was so excited about it. Although it may still be winter, you better believe I was eating the sorbet as soon as a bit of sun came out, pretending it was summer! Outfit details:  Dress, vintage scarf and boots: secondhand market finds. Other than creating this lemony delight, I also spent the weekend celebrating a friend's birthday. I bought her some flowers so of course I wanted to pose with them!  Then on Saturday I caught up with a uni friend over burgers. Even though life gets busy, I think it's important to catch up with friends whenever we can. This morning, my mum and I ventured out into the cold for a rummage through the market. My mum didn't come away with anything but I found this Queen 'Play the Game' LP. So shiny! It has Another One Bites t

What a busy week it's been. I'm a bit behind on publishing a blog post this week, and thought I'd skip it altogether but I've got some outfits/fun times that I'd like to share. Outfit: all second hand market finds. Bag: vintage. On Saturday, I spent the day at a beachy-town Torquay with my parents. I was determined to get to the beach.  I love looking at the water. It's such a simple pleasure and it makes me feel so happy. It was quite cold and windy and at one point my mum declared "Let's not ever take photos at the beach again!" Our hair and skirts were flying in all directions - it was hilarious. I've no idea what I'm grinning at! Haha! Then we spent some time wandering around a farm. Torquay has the best of both worlds, one minute you're at a beach and after a short drive, you're in the country side. About 50 kangaroos leaped past and I suddenly felt like I was in The Lion King! We never see

1970s Vintage Winter Lookbook

Now that it's the last month of Winter in Australia, I thought it would be a good idea to create a Winter Lookbook featuring all of my favourite pieces that I wear when it's cold outside. I love watching Lookbooks on YouTube so I thought it'd be a fun idea to try on this blog too. My go-to pieces for Winter are: Turtlenecks Big fluffy coats Fringed jackets Boots Capes Ponchos Culottes  Midi Skirts Mini skirts with coloured tights Belts  and h ats. All of these pieces keep me warm and make me feel fab. And if you ask me, Winter by the Rolling Stones is the perfect song to accompany this Winter-themed blog post. Spirit, watch the heavens open

This is the outfit I wore for the Christmas in July party I was telling you about in my last blog post. I thought it was a good excuse to pull out this emerald satin skirt. It glistens in the sun.  Once I put on my beloved snake print boots, I knew that I needed to pair it with this fringe-y belt. This belt must be 15-20 years old. I remember seeing it in my mum's closest when I was little and I was enamoured with the fringe and metal parts. A little while ago, my mum was cleaning her wardrobe and asked if I wanted this belt. I practically leaped at it! See, we're getting better at sharing. Here my mum is wearing my cord skirt. I'd like to borrow (a.k.a steal) her boots one day. Last Friday night, I went to see The Lion King at the cinemas with my friend Deana. I wasn't sure if I was going to like it or not, since the original was such a classic but I really enjoyed it. I liked how details were added to the plot line and baby Simba and N

Thank God It's Christmas (in July)

Hello and Happy Christmas in July! I have never celebrated Christmas in July before, so I was so excited about doing so recently. My best friend's family organised it and me and my family were happy to go along, bring some food and have some fun. We've all known each other for years and I love a good get together. Everyone's going through their own challenges at the moment so it's great that we can all get together, support one another and have a good time. When I say, Thank God's It's Christmas , I really mean it! Haha Last week, my mum was telling me a story about how her nonna used to have a cute little golden Christmas tree. Last year, we'd bought one of our own as a little ode to her.  I pulled it out this year and decorated it with some ornaments that I've collected over the years. I love the carousel, lantern, and China girl decorations so much! These outfit photos were taken near my mum's childhood church. We were
