If you try sometimes, you might find you get what you need

Hello! How are you all out there? I have started working online and the first couple of days were  a huge learning curve, I was so stressed about it all. I had days where I spent 9 straight hours on my laptop , trying to get everything right. Thank goodness for my mum and sister who made me breakfast and lunch.  I didn't have time to photograph their lovely meals  but here's some breakfasts I made on the weekend.  I'm so glad that  my wonderful grade 1s are starting to get the hang of learning online and I am so thankful for the parents and siblings who are helping my students, as they are still at an age where they are learning to read and use computers. Outfit details: Vintage vest- Daylesford Mills Market. Turtleneck (made in Italy!) - Secondhand market, $5. Bakelite bangles: Opshopped for $2!  (orange) and an eBay find for $15. Coral bracelet: Secondhand market in my favourite place, Sydney. Butterfly brooch: Someone left it be

I know I keep you amused but I feel I'm being used

Thank God for nature! In times of isolation, nature has been one of our few freedoms. In Australia, we are allowed to leave the house if we are an essential worker, if we are food shopping or exercising, all whilst social distancing.  The valley has always been a place of tranquility for me.  With the double denim and band tshirt (Sunnyboys of course), I was going for a George Harrison//Elvis/ Bob Dylan look. Source 1 & 2 My mum and I went to Yarra Glen (wine country) to stroll around and get some sunshine. These photos were taken before the exercise rule came about, so we actually had packed some food and ate on a park bench. But no more picnics for us! Now we've got to think more creatively!  My sister is very creative, actually.  She had some clothes dye, so we spent some time in the garden tie dying socks.  She also organised for us to take  part in online embroidery classes where we have

When I'm sad, you're a clown

Okay, now that all my before-the-virus-took-over-the-world blog posts have been published, I can finally get to what I've been up to during this stay-at-home isolation period. My mum, sister and I have been going on nature walks. We went to the Organ Pipes National Park (last visited  here in 2018 ), named so because about a million years ago, lava flowered over Mount Holden and created what looks like organ pipes.  When babysitting my twin cousins, we took them for numerous bush walks. We were thrilled to have found a nearby oasis - one of the silver linings to all this isolation is that we're getting more time to appreciate nature and discover nearby national parks that we didn't pay much attention to before.  On a day that I was feeling down, my mum cajooled me into having some fun dressing up as our favourite 60s/70s fashionistas and dancing around the house. The week before, we had fun dancing and singing to Stevie Nicks
