Breakfast at Sweethearts
Recently, my mum, sister and I had a girls trip to Sydney. We hopped on a Melbourne to Sydney overnight train, struggled to sleep sittting upright, but then celebrated our arrival with a nice breakfast at a Parisianne style cafe called The Grounds.
My mum and I had steak and eggs on toast, whilst my sister enjoyed a croissant and eggs and we shared some coffee and matcha, topped with cute love hearts. The food and atmosphere wad truly wonderful.
Then we walked around the CBD, passing The Rocks market, as well as a John Fluevog shoe shop, with lots of interesting looking, Canadian-designed shoes. It made me think of Shiela, a blogger friend who loves these shoes.
After lots and lots of walking, powered with energy from some Turkish pistachio donuts, we finally arrived at the Sydney Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge. After 6 years since our last visit, my wish to return came true.
In the afternoon, we rested a bit in our hotel room and then dressed up for dinner at a fancy restaurant called Meat & Wine Co. We so enjoyed the rump steak with a creamy mushroom sauce and salad. I savoured and enjoyed each bite. Just like twins, my mum and I ordered the exact same meal! Haha.
After dinner, we walked to Harbour Street and enjoyed an ice-cream. I picked two flavours: chocolate and matcha and my mum picked chocolate mint and cheesecake.
On the walk home, we spotted a twinkly arcade, finishing the day with some sparkle. Can you believe we walked 20,456 steps that day, according to an app on my phone!
Your visit to Sydney looks like a wonderful time. That many steps. Wow. I can believe it. I love how you and your mom ordered the same meal. Have a beautiful meal.

Sometimes we're twins! X
DeleteAww, that sounds absolutely lovely! And walking 20,456 steps after a fitful night on the train sounds absolutely incredible. I bet you slept like the proverbial logs that night. Oh, and both your and your Mum's outfits are gorgeous, and I love your bag! xxx
ReplyDeleteThank you Ann. I brought that bag to Sydney the first time I visited so had to bring it back again. X
DeleteI love a sleeper train, they're so exciting! What a fun trip with your Mum.
ReplyDeleteWe went on a 10km walk last week which I think equates to about the same as your epic stroll. We ended up hitching a lift back to our rooms as we were absolutely starving! xxx
Yes and a little uncomfortable, is the only thing.
DeleteYes love a big walk. X
