Where'd all the time go, it's starting to fly

 Life lately... has been busy, has been happy, has been sad. There have been so many deaths this year. I feel sad for my loved ones who have lost family. It puts my stress over finishing reports into perspective. I've also recovered from Covid, I've had it 3 times now. I was very sick this last time but am glad it's over.


Now onto the happy things. Some Christmas snapshots from the mall. For me, Christmas is such a happy time because it brings back memories with my grandparents, family and friends.


Earlier in November, we also celebrated my friend's daughter's 1st birthday. Isn't my friend Renee gorgeous? And she has the most adorable little one.




I wore my new-to-me white dress for the party. I think I paid $10 for it at a market. I haven't been to many markets lately but this was a good find. I'm always on the lookout for a beautiful, white, summer-y dress and this one is perfect. 


My mum wore her blue dress that she made herself. Doesn't she look beautiful?


My mum and I have decided to go on lots of walks lately. Luckily we have some nice walking areas and parks near us. This area with the long grass is a special First Nations site, which is only burnt once a year.



I also celebrated my boyfriend's birthday last weekend. I made him a pavlova, his favourite cake and we had a nice dinner with his family.

    I'm so sorry to hear you've got Covid 3 times, and that you were feeling so sick the last time. Glad to hear you've fully recovered and were able to enjoy walks with your Mum and celebrate your boyfriend's birthday! Both your new white Summer dress and your Mum's own creation are adorable! xxx

    Having Covid three times is such bad luck. I'm glad you're on the mend now. Your white dress is lovely, I can't get enough of them either!

    Hiya Jess, glad you are feeling better. Isn't your boyfriend lucky - just look at that pavlova cake! What a lovely picture of you in your white dress, in front of the red flowering Bottle Brush plant. Of course your mam and friend with little tot look absolutely gorgeous too. Interesting that you say that park is burnt once a year - is that a controlled burn? I hope you are enjoying the festivities :) x

  A little while ago, my mum, sister and I had lunch at one of our favourite places in the city, Conservatory. It's an all you can eat restaurant with a wide variety of food. Mostly I dream of the seafood and I was SO excited to go. I love the lighted ceiling and marble staircase that greets you on the way in. Beach baby, beach baby, give me your hand

A day by the beach, what could be better? One sunny day on my work holidays, my mum and I visited Geelong beach. First we popped into the Vintage Mills Market. Looks at these vintage treasures... Next we strolled by the beach.  Passing the  carousal , we couldn't resist having some childlike fun. The Carousel's website says: " The Armitage-Herschell portable steam driven, hand-carved wooden carousel was constructed circa 1892 and is one of only 200 in operation around the world.   Featuring 36 Dare horses and 2 chariots, it was purchased by the Steampacket Place Development Board in 1996 and painstakingly restored." The view from the carosaul centre is beautiful. For lunch, we ate at a lovely restaurant by the beach called Fisherman's Pier. We love returning to enjoy the seafood linguini - delicious!  The four beach ladies waved us goodbye as we made our way back to our car. Goodbye beach, it was nice seeing you! I go leaps and bounds

A few weeks ago, my mum, dad and I spent the day in Geelong, catching up with some family and friends. Julie, Andy and their children were down from Queensland for the weekend to watch their son Joel play football, so it was a perfect chance to catch up.  It was nice watching the game, chatting and laughing non-stop. This bunch are always cracking jokes and I delighted in our giggles. Being outside all day, I rugged up in my new fluffy coat, my Christmas present from mum this year. I squeezed in a sneaky wear of it before I wrapped it up in Christmas paper.  My mum has a maroon Afghan coat and a tan one, which I sometimes borrow. You may recall them from my blog posts here and here . Now I have one of my own, thank you mum! I practically pounced on it, when I saw it on sale. I've been secondhand shopping for so long, I forgot that retail stores have end of season sales! The coat kept me toasty all day, even into the night as we headed to a pub hotel for a final gathering and chat.
