Don't torture yourself Gomez, that's my job

I got into my recreation mode this October whilst others were dressing up for Halloween.  I like the idea of dressing up, but Halloween isn't a big thing here in Australia. In 2020, I posted some photos of me recreating some vintage photos/outfits and I felt inspired to do the same again this year.

All leopard for Rod Stewart!

More leopard to recreate Sophia Loren's look, this time using a fluffy coat. 

A pink and gold shiny moment for Priscilla Presley's outfit. I actually saw this dress of hers in person earlier in the year when I went to the Elvis Exhibition in Bendigo. She was so petite, the dress looked like it could fit a child.


As for this year, I styled 3 recreation looks...


My favourite Rolling Stone Keith Richards, dressed in costume for the Rock 'n' Roll circus back in the sixties. For this look, I borrowed my mum's top hat and trench coat. I made the eye patch using black paper and wore some string and pearls around my neck. Do you think Keith would approve?


Using the top hat again, I recreated Stevie Nicks' long, flowy and black look. It was fun twirling around in the garden in my bargain ($10!!) vintage Ossie Clark dress.



I've saved my favourite recreation look for last - Morticia Addams! Cutting the bud off roses of course! My boyfriend loved this photo too.



I would've loved to do more looks, but I've been busy with reports, so I'm happy I could manage these 3 photos this year.

    These are all brilliant, Jess, but although I'm swooning over the Ossie Clark dress, my favourite is Morticia. You look stunning in that photo, no wonder your boyfriend loved it! xxx

      Yes, the Morticia outfit is my favourite too.
      By coincidence the show 'Wednesday' came out late this year. It was good.

    Morticia is my favourite too Jess! My youngest daughter is a bit like Wednesday Adams :0 She would greatly enjoy the drama of the rose beheading. I saw my first Christmas tree today ( a neighbour's, in full passing view of the window) & I'm not ready!!! xXx

 Where do you buy your clothing from? Opshops? Online shops? Retail stores? For a while, I hadn't been buying much clothing as my wardrobe is absolutely full! From time to time, I sell pieces from my wardrobe on eBay to slowly thin out my collection. Volare oh, oh, Cantare oh, oh

After 11 weeks of term 2, preparing reports and completing parent-teacher interviews, I farewelled my grade 2 students, and began my two weeks of holidays. I was looking forward to spending time with my family, grandparents and boyfriend, as well as squeezing in some day trips. My mum and I returned to our favourite place, Daylesford. It was a cold, winter's day so we rugged up in big coats which kept us surprisingly toasty. I wore my tartan coat that I recently bought at a market. I had been looking for a big, long coat for some time as well as watching Gilmore Girls and admiring all of the beautiful coats worn on the show. Because I knew you, I have been changed for good

  Last Thursday night, my mum, sister and I went to see Wicked: The Musical in the city!  We quickly dressed and rushed there after work and made it just in the nick of time before the 7pm start. We marvelled at the ceiling and Romeo and Juliet style balcony. I even spotted a handful of Australian TV personalities, walking through a roped off area, which is something I've never seen here in Melbourne. Usually, we all just walk through the same entrance!  I absolutely love  The Wizard of Oz  as you may have noticed  here  and  here  and quite enjoyed Wicked The Musical, with its perspective of two witches Elphaba and Glinda from the Land of Oz. The set was wonderful, with references to the Land of Oz such as the Emerald City, cornfield and a field of poppies.
