I'm glad it's your birthday, happy birthday to you

Hello!
It's my mum's birthday tomorrow so my family and I have spent some time celebrating with her this weekend. Yesterday we went out to a local park and then to a Chinese restaurant for lunch.

It's Autumn here in Australia and I adore the changing colours of the leaves, especially the red leaves in this photo.

This plant with small yellow flowers was cute too. I like taking photos in front of trees or flowers. In fact, I love spending time in nature in general. I remember learning at uni that being amongst nature is really important for humans, it's like a form of meditation.

I was happily taking in the beauty of the park when I noticed a man peeking his head through the bushes and watching us as we took some outfit shots. He kept stopping and watching us, stopping and looking at us. Very weird. Either he thought our outfits were outrageously wonderful (!) or... I don't know, it was very strange. We're just taking photos, carry on!

Outfit details:
I quite like wearing a monochromatic outfit especially all maroon.
Snakeskin boots, cord pants and rings: secondhand market finds
Vintage bag- my mum bought me this bag for a birthday present last year from Daylesford. It had a note in it saying that it was hand weaved in 1965 as part of a SAC at Caulfield Tech. I LOVE that the original owner shared this note and of course I keep in the bag.
Turtleneck: retail, years ago.

This morning, my mum and I went to the market and look at the secondhand treasures I found...

A cord midi skirt from UNIQLO (Have you ever heard of this store before? I've seen quite a few of them and my sister told me that their clothes are made in Japan and are supposedly of good quality.)
Brown hat
Johnny Cash LP

I've got two caps like this now - one in a cord, maroon fabric and this brown one. I know they've been a bit trendy over the last year or so, but I like them because they remind me of Anita Pallenberg and Marianne Faithfull's fabulous style...

See you in a new blog post on Wednesday!

    1. Thanks Shiela! I'm really enjoying wearing mostly one colour and loved wearing the boots with this outfit. The heel's a bit tall for me, but I think I'll have to wear them more. X
