Happy (Chinese) New Year!

Happy Chinese New Year! I'm back with a blog post earlier than I anticipated.


Yesterday, the teachers at the school I work at were asked to wear red or yellow clothes - lucky Chinese colours.

 I'm convinced this red vintage dress is lucky- it gave me some much needed confidence in my job interview in late 2017 and I got the job!
I was feeling really nervous just before walking into the interview and then suddenly I felt really positive and certain that I was going to get the job. The power of clothes, indeed!

I bought this lantern at a market a couple of months ago and brought it in to my classroom to display. My students loved it and many of the teachers admired it to. I have a small lantern decoration that I put on the Christmas tree too, they're really beautiful.

    What a lovely dress! It looks great on you, and I'm not surprised that it gave you confidence walking into an interview! I do enjoy dressing up for pretty much any occasion. Happy New Year!

  A little while ago, my mum, sister and I had lunch at one of our favourite places in the city, Conservatory. It's an all you can eat restaurant with a wide variety of food. Mostly I dream of the seafood and I was SO excited to go. I love the lighted ceiling and marble staircase that greets you on the way in. She's the lady who wears those flashing eyes

    Recently, I've been loving the colour pink. I think it may be because I've been seeing so many reels of cute, pink kitchens on Instagram or perhaps it's because I've been adoring my pink, strawberry jug I shared on my blog recently . Regardless, I've never really paid much attention to the colour pink until recently. I was determined to find a pink dress and luckily I didn't have to look far because I found this pink and red dress at the next opshop I visited, Savers. A bit pricey for opshops ($15.80), but I was happy to purchase this dress because it's beautiful and Sportsgirl sell their dresses for $80+ in their stores.     I had to take my new-to-me dress out for a twirl on a day out to Daylesford with my mum. Beach baby, beach baby, give me your hand

A day by the beach, what could be better? One sunny day on my work holidays, my mum and I visited Geelong beach. First we popped into the Vintage Mills Market. Looks at these vintage treasures... Next we strolled by the beach.  Passing the  carousal , we couldn't resist having some childlike fun. The Carousel's website says: " The Armitage-Herschell portable steam driven, hand-carved wooden carousel was constructed circa 1892 and is one of only 200 in operation around the world.   Featuring 36 Dare horses and 2 chariots, it was purchased by the Steampacket Place Development Board in 1996 and painstakingly restored." The view from the carosaul centre is beautiful. For lunch, we ate at a lovely restaurant by the beach called Fisherman's Pier. We love returning to enjoy the seafood linguini - delicious!  The four beach ladies waved us goodbye as we made our way back to our car. Goodbye beach, it was nice seeing you!
