Oh the flame trees will blind the weary driver

Our day in Mount Macedon began with a chilly walk up to the Memorial Cross. The first thing that greeted us was this adorable, fluffy kookaburra and fog everywhere.

Luckily I came prepared with my big Afghan coat.

Still, I was freezing!

These trees with bright red leaves were beautiful. Almost everyone who passed by stopped to take photos.

Hiding under the trees were many red mushrooms. They looked bright and magical but were probably poisonous. Best to just look and not touch.

These Penstemon ‘Alice Hindley’ flowers caught my eye, matching the red theme of the day. I have purple Penstemons growing in my garden and would like to plant some red ones next.

A closer look at my vintage, leather handbag. I've had this one for years.

For lunch we had sweet potato wedges and shakshuka.

What did you have for lunch today?

  1. I love your wonderful coat, and that gorgeous tooled bag! Seeing the trees in "flame" makes me yearn for fall here.
