I heard the streets were paved with gold

 Ahhh Southbank!  A beautiful place with many wonderful restaurants and a view of the river. 

Once in a while, my mum and I love to return there for a fancy day out to Conservatory, which is a buffet restaurant with delicious food.

 The seafood is the highlight, and we dream of the oysters, crabs and prawns.

 Every time we eat way too much food, promise ourselves we won't return and then magically find our way back there six months later!

For the occassion, I wore my blue maxi dress for the first time, paired with my orange, leather sandals.  With my freshly henna-ed hair, plus the colour combination of blue and orange, I feel like Ariel the mermaid.

My mum wore her gorgeous ditsy floral dress and some comfy sandals.

If you could eat anything in the world, irrespective of cost, what would it be?

 Anyone fancy tagging along to lunch and a show? A little while ago, my sister, mum and I went into the city to watch the Shirley Valentine theatre show. Shirley Valentine is a classic movie from 1989 about a 42 year old woman who goes on a trip with her friend to Greece to escape her monotonous lifestyle and she discovers new adventure and independence. It is a funny and moving film that my mum, sister and I have watched many times over the years. Hence we were curious what the theatre show would be like. At the Athenaeum Theatre, Natalie Bassingthwaighte did an amazing job in the one woman show. For the show, my mum and I accidentally ended up both wearing floral dresses, which funnily enough perfectly matched the theme of the show. I also wore my giant butterfly clip in my hair. Run and tell all of the angels, this could take all night

Earlier in the year, my family and I visited a strawberry farm in Bacchus Marsh. My sister and I love visiting fruit farms and being able to pick our own fruit! The strawberries were much sweeter and tastier than the bland ones usually found in supermarkets. I was delighted to buy some apples too. They had no wax on which is basically unheard of these days. Next we visited a beautiful, old church. I love how the arches are reminiscent of Noah's Ark. Even the door is purposely designed and ornate. A little while ago, my mum and I travelled to the Bendigo Art Gallery to visit the most wonderful exhibition 'Frida Kahlo: In Her Own Image'. Frida Kahlo was a Mexican artist known for her deeply personal and surrealist works that explored themes of identity, pain, and Mexican culture.  Born in 1907, Kahlo's life was marked by both physical and emotional hardship. At the age of 18, she was severely injured in a bus accident, leaving her with lifelong health issues and leading to numerous surgeries and hospitalisations.  During her recovery, Kahlo began painting, often creating self-portraits that conveyed her intense physical and emotional pain. Her work blends elements of Mexican folk art with surrealism, and her vibrant use of colour and symbolism often highlights her heritage.  Kahlo's art delves into themes of personal suffering, love, and loss, reflecting her tumultuous relationship with fellow artist Diego Rivera.
