I looked into the eyes of eternity

This is the perfect beach dress. Turquoise blue, with little details of shells and seahorses. I loved wearing it for a day in the sunshine.

My mum and I love revisiting Williamstown beach and go there often. We strolled along the Botanical Gardens where we have enjoyed Christmas picnics and days out in the past.

This big, black, iron gate proved to be a perfect backdrop for a photo.

We always visit our favourite icecream shop Will's Batch. This time I got a scoop of matcha and cherry and coconut ice-cream. Perfection!

On the way home, we popped into a Vinnies opshop and I spotted a gorgeous raffia bag. From memory, it only set me back $7. I've been looking for one of these raffia floral bags for years!

The beach is my happy place - a peaceful and beautiful place where the gentle sound of waves meet the shore and create a soothing rhythm that calms my mind. The vast expanse of ocean stretching to the horizon offers a sense of freedom and tranquility. Sunlight dances on the water’s surface, and the salty breeze carries away any stress. For me, there's a quiet sadness in walking away from a beach, I always look back longingly and can't wait to return. I must be a mermaid disguised as a human!

What are your favourite beach memories?

  1. That's such a pretty dress and the bag was a fantastic find. It seems very strange seeing you and your mum enjoying the sunshine while there's a blanket of snow on the ground and warnings for sub-zero temperatures for the rest of the week! xxx

    1. I know, right? I saw the snow photos in your latest blog post. It's 42 degrees Celsius in Melbourne today, so hot! X

  2. You're definitely a mermaid in that lovely blue dress, Jess! Those raffia bags are so rare now! I used to see them all the time 10-15 years ago. Great score!
