I swam the river and the river swam me, we carried each other back out to the sea
The beach in winter is a hidden masterpiece, where the soft, frosty air carries a sense of calm and quiet solitude. The usually bustling shores are now empty, waves crash against the sand, the water sparkles in the subdued sunlight.
The cool, crisp breeze brushes against your skin, refreshing and invigorating. Black swans waddle around, trying to have a taste of your chips or icecream. The beach during winter time is simply beautiful.
For my recent trip to the beach with my sister and mum, I wanted to recreate Anita Pallenberg's winter beach outfit from the 1960s. A big, fluffy coat and a hat was necessary, I was only missing the gloves! I purchased this long, vintage fur coat years ago at a market. The red hat was purchased this year in a Sportsgirl sale.
It isn't a proper beach experience without some icecream! I really enjoyed this cherry and coconut flavour and a scoop of peach icecream, the latter being a flavour of the month at our favourite icecream store Will's Batch!

My family and I attended a baptism. Here I am with my dedo. 97 years old and the best dressed! Quiet, caring, generous, the best at gardening... We're so blessed to have him in our lives. He always looked after my baba so well in her later years. He's a good example of a man and husband.
I absolutely love the seaside in Winter, which is my preferable time of visiting it, going for a bracing walk on a nearly empty beach!
ReplyDeleteYour long vintage fur coat - very reminiscent of Anita's - is the perfect attire for such a walk.
That pistachio cannoli is looking very moorish! xxx
