You know I love big, fluffy coats and have amassed a small collection over the years.

I developed my love of big, furry coats after watching Almost Famous and seeing gorgeous coats in photos from the 1970s. It's a style that really warms my heart and keeps me warm in winter too!

Every year Tree Of Life releases new styles of Afghan coats. Here are a few of the 2025 styles. I'd like to purchase one when they have their end of season sale.


I'm thinking I'll get the sunflower coat. I love sunflowers and the black, shiny fake fur on the collar.

    I think I'd go for the sunflower print coat, too. You're very restrained waiting for the sale, if I love something I have to have it and blow the expense! xxx

      I waited for the sale and have since bought the sunflower coat at 50% off! Will have to wear it out and post a photo soon. X

    You definitely can't have enough big fluffy coats; that's what winters are for!

After 11 weeks of term 2, preparing reports and completing parent-teacher interviews, I farewelled my grade 2 students, and began my two weeks of holidays. I was looking forward to spending time with my family and grandparents, as well as squeezing in some day trips. My mum and I returned to our favourite place, Daylesford. It was a cold, winter's day so we rugged up in big coats which kept us surprisingly toasty. I wore my tartan coat that I recently bought at a market. I had been looking for a big, long coat for some time as well as watching Gilmore Girls and admiring all of the beautiful coats worn on the show. Run and tell all of the angels, this could take all night

Earlier in the year, my family and I visited a strawberry farm in Bacchus Marsh. My sister and I love visiting fruit farms and being able to pick our own fruit! The strawberries were much sweeter and tastier than the bland ones usually found in supermarkets. I was delighted to buy some apples too. They had no wax on which is basically unheard of these days. Next we visited a beautiful, old church. I love how the arches are reminiscent of Noah's Ark. Even the door is purposely designed and ornate. We ended the day with some waffles I made from scratch and ate many more strawberries. Title : Dear Boy by Paul & Linda McCartney.

For who knows when we'll meet again this way

The end of our Eden holiday concluded with some time at the beach and a yummy BBQ - vegetables, sausages, onions and salmon.  It's always hard to say goodbye to the beautiful ocean, so I savored the last moments looking out at the water and thinking of all the things I'm grateful for. For the long drive home back to Melbourne, I wore my comfortable Mexican, embroidered dress. A few years ago, I found quite a few Mexican dresses, but haven't come across one in a very long time. I'd love one in red, wouldn't that look fantastic? On the drive, I visited this church that was hosting an art fair and admired this green home! Since returning home, I've done a lot of cooking. Here is a plate of my homemade sausage rolls and long green beans with nuts. I've also gone for some nice walks, sometimes picking flowers along the way. What have you been up to lately?
