Besame Mucho

Here's my 'Frida Kahlo' dress! It's deep blue and bright red with big roses on it! It reminds me of Frida's home painted in similar colours.

I found it at a Vinnies opshop near my workplace last year. There were two handmade dresses in this kaftan style and I gave one of them to my mum.

It was perfect to wear on a 22 degree celcius day, when my mum and I decided to drop off some things at an opshop and go to one of our favourite cafes - Poynton's. It is a nursery with a cafe on a hill by the Maribyrnong River.

My mum and I both ordered the same thing and really enjoyed this linguine with prawns and chorizo.

I was so excited to buy some fruit trees - a lemonade lemon tree, a pomegranite tree, an olive tree and a mandarin tree. The lemonade lemon is meant to be sweet and you can eat it on its own! My nonna had a wonderful pomegtanite tree in her front yard and I got one in her memory.

My fig tree is also very happy and thriving in this big terracotta pot I got at Bunnings.

I'll finish this post with a delicious chocolate cake I baked recently. I found a heart shaped tin for $7 at an opshop and couldn't wait to make this cake, inspired by the infamous chocolate from the film Matilda. The batter looks chocolatey and rich.

I hope your day is as delicious as this cake was!

And what could be more delightful than a heart-shaped chocolate cake? xxx
