That is how I know you go on

A little while ago, my sister organised a night out to visit the Titanic Exhibition in Melbourne with my mum and I. Titanic has always been one of my favourite movies and I have read various books on the ship and story of the Titanic, so I was fascinated to see the pieces that were salvaged from the sinking of the ship.

Binoculars

The exhibition had a high tea area with gorgeous wallpaper.

Of course, I had to wear my replica hair piece like the one Rose wears in Titanic.

Steering wheel

Barometer

Recreated doors

Coins

Mesh bag and jewellery

Glasses

Plates with brown and pink freesia design

It was amazing to see the intricate, detailed ceiling. I love how the Titanic film recreated the ceiling from the actual ship!

So many people were lined up to take a photo by the stairs so we took some quick snaps then continued through the exhibition.

This created iceberg mimicked the temperature of the water on the night of the Titanic's sinking. It demonstrates how freezing the water was.

I thought this gold watch was the most beautiful piece in the exhibition.

Beyond admiring or wondering about the pieces and who they belonged to, I liked how the exhibition highlighted the frailty of life and the story behind the Titanic and the 1,517 people whose lives were lost in its sinking.

What was most interesting artefact to you from this exhibition?

  1. You look fabulous Jess, I love your outfit. I've never seen Titanic but, like most folk, do find the story very poignant. I did post a photo of the tombstone of a local man who was a member of the Titanic's orchestra and lost his life. HERE: https://vintagevixon.blogspot.com/2022/02/cemetary-gates.html
That hair slide you're wearing is very pretty and I love the wallpaper. xxx

  4. What a lovely outing! The Titanic Exhibition sounds like such a fascinating experience, especially with your love for the movie and the history surrounding the ship. It must have been incredible to see the salvaged items in person – I bet they really brought the story to life.

Your replica hairpiece is such a fun touch! It’s a nod to Rose and a little bit of movie magic. The high tea area with the gorgeous wallpaper sounds like a nice way to enjoy the day too. I’m sure the recreated doors and the steering wheel were highlights as well .

It was amazing to see. And a great reminder that Titanic is not just a famous movie, but a real tragedy. X
