Tale as old as time, song as old as rhyme, Beauty and the Beast

 

Last Christmas, my sister kindly gifted me a ticket to see the Beauty and the Beast musical, performed at Her Majesty's Theatre in July. She made me the cute postcard above and my mum also gifted me some adorable decorations of Cogsworth, Lumiere and Chip.

My sister, mum and I first had lunch at Brunetti in the city, a quick panini and cake before the show started at 1.00pm. 

This flakey dessert is one of my favourites at Brunetti. It's filled with zabaglione chantilly cream and topped with an amarena cherry.

Naturally we dressed up for the theatre! I wore a velvet dress and my vintage fur coat, whilst y mum wore a denim tiered skirt with a gorgeous Afghan coat.

The show was absolutely amazing, by far the best musical performance we have ever seen! The costumes were wonderful, the stage design enchanting, the singing and orchestra gave me goosebumps! The storyline was very true to the Disney film. It really was spectacular. If you love the movie, you'd love this musical too.


Thank you to my sister for organising this wonderful day out. I had the best time.

    What a wonderful gift from your sister! I'm not much of a musical fan but I love the magic of a theatre, particularly one as sumptuous as Her Majesty's Theatre. Your velvet dress couldn't have been better suited and I'm loving your Mum's tiered denim maxi skirt. xxx

A day by the beach, what could be better? One sunny day on my work holidays, my mum and I visited Geelong beach. First we popped into the Vintage Mills Market. Looks at these vintage treasures... Next we strolled by the beach.  Passing the  carousal , we couldn't resist having some childlike fun. The Carousel's website says: " The Armitage-Herschell portable steam driven, hand-carved wooden carousel was constructed circa 1892 and is one of only 200 in operation around the world.   Featuring 36 Dare horses and 2 chariots, it was purchased by the Steampacket Place Development Board in 1996 and painstakingly restored." The view from the carosaul centre is beautiful. For lunch, we ate at a lovely restaurant by the beach called Fisherman's Pier. We love returning to enjoy the seafood linguini - delicious!  The four beach ladies waved us goodbye as we made our way back to our car. Goodbye beach, it was nice seeing you! Promised you a miracle

 Where do you buy your clothing from? Opshops? Online shops? Retail stores? For a while, I hadn't been buying much clothing as my wardrobe is absolutely full! From time to time, I sell pieces from my wardrobe on eBay to slowly thin out my collection. Although recently I fell into an eBay rabbit hole and have purchased quite a few nice dresses.  I bought this  Tree Of Life  dress on eBay after admiring the exact same one my mum has. I tried on her dress, so knew which size to buy. It popped up immediately when I looked it up online, and for less than $30 including postage, it was mine ! Leopard is always fabulous, I think. I enjoyed wearing it for a get-together with family friends at my uncle Arthur's house a little while ago. This cotton, brown and cream kaftan was also from Tree of Life. Roll up to the mystery tour...

Hello and welcome to my market stall!  A little while ago, I  had a market stall, the size of a little car park. My mum and I woke up very early, made the drive to stall 248 and unloaded all my items.    I love secondhand shopping but I have run out of storage space! So from time to time, I rent a market stall space and sell things that I'm willing to let go. I sold vintage coats, clothes, shoes, boots, bags, vinyl records, books and costume jewellery! We were so busy but my mum managed to take all of these pictures in this post. Thanks mum for helping me! I love selling things and I enjoyed chatting to ladies who bought a bunch of my clothes and boots to resell in their own stalls. I love this little flower stall. How pretty are the daffodils! Speaking of daffodils, look at the daffodils I grew myself! I'm very proud of them and I so admire looking at them in my vase.
