Pink slips, pink ownership papers

 

Hello! 

I hope your day is as lovely as this strawberry milkshake! I haven't had a milkshake in years and this one was such a delight. My mum, dad and I recently went out for lunch to Old Man Drew. My mum and I enjoy going out to different places to eat, whereas my dad is more of a grumble bum but also doesn't want to miss out! Hehe!

On this day, I had a homemade pie and we shared a pecan pie which was delicious. So delicious that I think I need to return there for some more as soon as possible.

I adored these red flowers that were on each table. The sun shone perfectly in this photo.

Mum and I had a peek at the rooms upstairs where events are held. There was a pink room which was beautiful.

Earlier in the day, mum and I walked through a women's peace garden.

 

With its very own peace sign on the lawn!

This dusty pink plant complimented my outfit perfectly.

I constructed this outfit around these white boots and pale pink turtleneck which are both pieces that I haven't worn much lately. I'm not convinced that white boots are for me, but apparently they're all the rage at Harry Styles concerts.

Look at the new dress my mum made herself. Fabulous and patchwork, it reminds me of something Cher and Priscilla Presley would have worn in the seventies.


I'll leave you with this snap of the blossoms in our front yard. Surprisingly they smell of grape lollies. I'm thrilled it's finally spring here in Melbourne.

    I do not know that movie quote, but I know that pink slips mean "getting fired" here. If you get your pink slip it means you're out of a job!

    I love your pretty outfit, and how it echoed your settings, right down to the branch with lovely blossoms. Your mum's dress is amazing! I just watched the new "Elvis" movie, and thought of you!

  A little while ago, my mum, sister and I had lunch at one of our favourite places in the city, Conservatory. It's an all you can eat restaurant with a wide variety of food. Mostly I dream of the seafood and I was SO excited to go. I love the lighted ceiling and marble staircase that greets you on the way in. I wore my new-to-me cream midi dress with cute puffy sleeves that I recently bought at a market for $7. I wasn't sure if the colour would suit me, but I like how it looks with the coral necklace. Beach baby, beach baby, give me your hand

A day by the beach, what could be better? One sunny day on my work holidays, my mum and I visited Geelong beach. First we popped into the Vintage Mills Market. Looks at these vintage treasures... Next we strolled by the beach.  Passing the  carousal , we couldn't resist having some childlike fun. The Carousel's website says: " The Armitage-Herschell portable steam driven, hand-carved wooden carousel was constructed circa 1892 and is one of only 200 in operation around the world.   Featuring 36 Dare horses and 2 chariots, it was purchased by the Steampacket Place Development Board in 1996 and painstakingly restored." The view from the carosaul centre is beautiful. For lunch, we ate at a lovely restaurant by the beach called Fisherman's Pier. We love returning to enjoy the seafood linguini - delicious!  The four beach ladies waved us goodbye as we made our way back to our car. Goodbye beach, it was nice seeing you! I go leaps and bounds

A few weeks ago, my mum, dad and I spent the day in Geelong, catching up with some family and friends. Julie, Andy and their children were down from Queensland for the weekend to watch their son Joel play football, so it was a perfect chance to catch up.  It was nice watching the game, chatting and laughing non-stop. This bunch are always cracking jokes and I delighted in our giggles. Being outside all day, I rugged up in my new fluffy coat, my Christmas present from mum this year. I squeezed in a sneaky wear of it before I wrapped it up in Christmas paper.  My mum has a maroon Afghan coat and a tan one, which I sometimes borrow. You may recall them from my blog posts here and here . Now I have one of my own, thank you mum! I practically pounced on it, when I saw it on sale. I've been secondhand shopping for so long, I forgot that retail stores have end of season sales! The coat kept me toasty all day, even into the night as we headed to a pub hotel for a final gathering and chat.
