And it was all yellow...


 
Melbourne recently came out of its 6th lockdown and guess what the first thing mum and I did? We went to Spotlight (a huge craft and sewing store) which we were so enthusiastic about. We also went to our favourite country town Daylesford. Over a recent long weekend, we had some nice, sunny weather so mum and I decided it was a perfect day for an adventure. 
 

 

 

 
 
 
 
 
We happily wandered around Jubilee Lake and soaked up the sights. The peacocks and ducks even came out to play. Then mum had the bright idea to go on a paddle boat. I'm a precious you see, because despite having swimming lessons as I child, I've long since forgotten how to swim and was imagining myself drowning in the lake. 
 

 


 
Convinced I was being a bit dramatic, I decided to give it a go and it was SO much fun. Mum and I were all smiles the whole 30 minutes and it was quite a leg workout! We loved looking at the beautiful lake and agreed we'd do it again next time.I  want to go with my boyfriend as well, it was fantastic.

 
Outfit details:
Dress - hand me down from mum.
Vintage bag - $7 at a secondhand market.
Brand new sandals - $15 at a market. I'm always amazed to see people selling brand new shoes at markets.
Vintage, coral  necklace- market find, $25.


Mum recently did a wardrobe clear out and I got so many dresses from her. This mustard dress was one of them. I thought the yellow dress and sandals might be too much, but I quite like the cheeriness. 

We ended our day with a delicious souvlaki from the fish and chip shop and an icecream and called it a (perfect) day!

    What a lovely day out you've had. It must have been quite exhilarating after coming out of lockdown. Jubilee lake looks wonderful and I'm glad to hear your paddle boat adventures went smoothly.     I'm really happy you got to get out and have a day on the lake. Now I want to do a paddle boat! How fun! The yellow dress is amazing on you - what a beautiful colour.

  A little while ago, my mum, sister and I had lunch at one of our favourite places in the city, Conservatory. It's an all you can eat restaurant with a wide variety of food. She's the lady who wears those flashing eyes

    Recently, I've been loving the colour pink. I think it may be because I've been seeing so many reels of cute, pink kitchens on Instagram or perhaps it's because I've been adoring my pink, strawberry jug I shared on my blog recently . Regardless, I've never really paid much attention to the colour pink until recently. I was determined to find a pink dress and luckily I didn't have to look far because I found this pink and red dress at the next opshop I visited, Savers. A bit pricey for opshops ($15.80), but I was happy to purchase this dress because it's beautiful and Sportsgirl sell their dresses for $80+ in their stores.     I had to take my new-to-me dress out for a twirl on a day out to Daylesford with my mum. She wanted to visit the lavender farm again whilst the purple delights were still in bloom.           The scent of lavendar was wonderful. Beach baby, beach baby, give me your hand

A day by the beach, what could be better? One sunny day on my work holidays, my mum and I visited Geelong beach. First we popped into the Vintage Mills Market. Looks at these vintage treasures... Next we strolled by the beach.  Passing the  carousal , we couldn't resist having some childlike fun. The Carousel's website says: " The Armitage-Herschell portable steam driven, hand-carved wooden carousel was constructed circa 1892 and is one of only 200 in operation around the world.   Featuring 36 Dare horses and 2 chariots, it was purchased by the Steampacket Place Development Board in 1996 and painstakingly restored." The view from the carosaul centre is beautiful. For lunch, we ate at a lovely restaurant by the beach called Fisherman's Pier. We love returning to enjoy the seafood linguini - delicious!  The four beach ladies waved us goodbye as we made our way back to our car. Goodbye beach, it was nice seeing you!
